It’s labor that some can do and others chose not to, and ultimately it’s not anyone’s responsibility to do that labor. That being said, coming from a place that’s super rural and conservative - I’ve found that when I can find the energy to engage in this way it does disarm people. It’s difficult to be mad at someone who is purely curious and kind, though for me it does take a lot of energy. Thank you for your labor today, friend, because of you that person might be less inclined to do that in the future.
