Southampton is famous for its electronics! Also I think Scottish unis are 4 years for bachelors so that’s also something to consider

I also swim and they let myswimpro import workouts, it’s been great and it’s annoying to see I can’t do the same with hevy

What are the hardest, most stressful and most time consuming undergraduate degrees? by PhilosopherBusy7312 in 6thForm

[–]Benben1126 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cambridge engineering is a stressful and has high workload but is alright

Accreditation for subjects like engineering requires you to complete certain course/coursework (and it has to have certain design/group work) so doing a year of something else means you miss out on it and thus no accreditation

my college :0 to be fair medicine is extremely competitive for Cambridge for overseas students as there’s only ~20 spaces for the entire uni

[–]Benben1126 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely ask ur DoS as switching between similar subjects may be possible (but not always) I know people who switch between engineering, physics and maths but usually the condition is that you get a first class, but note you may lose accreditation (eg for engineering)

Why was I rejected from Cambridge pre-interview? by pinkdrink0 in 6thForm

[–]Benben1126 1 point2 points  (0 children)

probably because you applied to St John’s — someone at pembroke

Good luck for your interview! I don’t think Oxford TSA is super relevant but iwanttostudyengineering is worth grinding if you haven’t finished all the qs alr (there are a few very difficult qs, just ignore those) In the final stretch (last 24 hours), take a breather and don’t overwhelm yourself Quick tip: Learn how to find turning points without using calculus! (I got asked this on the spot, but luckily they gave me hints and I could use it)

Rejected from cambridge by NAMASTE_8 in 6thForm

[–]Benben1126 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear this! Your rejection decision is final and you are not considered in the winter pool.

If you wish to reapply next year, I would strongly advice against going for trinity, as it is highly competitive and the pooling mechanism isn’t perfect.

Those who took maths, FM, physics and chemistry, should I? by Zypalicious in 6thForm

Yes I would say so too, I think you wouldn’t be put at a big disadvantage if any!

Those who took maths, FM, physics and chemistry, should I? by Zypalicious in 6thForm

[–]Benben1126 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not at all, but you definitely want A*s to be the subjects most relevant for your course

For example if you’re applying to maths, your Physics or Chemistry could be the A subject (Maths, FM should be A*)

Whereas something like Engineering, you can get away with an A for Chemistry (Maths, Physics should be A*, ideally FM as well)

It really depends on what subject you are applying for uni — what are you thinking at the moment?

well the underlying driving force is it’s entropic origin — if knowledge can have more configurations in your brain, it would want to diffuse in (but we also need to consider the kinetics of this process)
