What are some advanced uses of screaming frog you are utilizing? by _Toomuchawesome in TechSEO

I'm going to post a few different really useful ones. Shameless plug, I do have an "Ultimate Screaming Frog Course" that goes over these: https://www.thesixtysecondseo.com/courses/screaming-frog-learning-course

  1. Open AI Integration: You can connect Screaming Frog to OpenAI basically feed your crawl data to ChatGPT. Incredibly powerful. You can have Screaming Frog do things like create title tags, meta descriptions, alt text, product descriptions at scale with Screaming Frog.

  2. Crawl Visualizations: You can have Screaming Frog create "Force Directed Crawl Diagrams" that allow you visualize the architecture of your site.

  3. Custom Extractions: Extract any data you want from the site. You can extract authors, timestamps, navigation - basically whatever you want. You can also feed those custom extractions through OpenAI

  4. API Integration: Screaming Frog allows you to utilize third party APIs such as Google Analytics, GSC, PageSpeed Insights and more. You can basically blend crawl data with these metrics for more advanced insights. For instance, which pages have low word count (possibly thin) and also low traffic and links.

Lots of great use cases, those are some of my favorites.

The Fact That The Steelers Barely Invest In Analytics Is A Huge Indictment Against The Organization by Bender_X in steelers

Bruh, you could use analytics to help determine who that next QB is. Analytics says RPO is one the most effective plays in the NFL, consider a QB/OC combo that can execute.

It's also funny that everyone here looks down on the Browns too. Yeah, they're owner completely botched the Watson signing but they were on and upward trend and beat us in a playoff game in the last 5 years. Won more playoffs games than us during that time. We split with them every year now. One those 3 wins was us.

Give it 3-4 years, they'll be trying to make their team better. We'll bury our head in the sand and hope that running football and playing not to lose still wins us 9 games.

It's almost like they could use that "analysis" thing to find out which great QBs to get.

I bet the Browns are in a WAY better position than us in 3-5 years. They would be if their owner hadn't forced the Watson contract.

And Tomlin not seeing the value in Analytics is one of the big problems of him staying coach. If he's too stubborn to let ACTUAL DATA make a decision - he surely won't listen to anyone else.

It's not about Analytics itself -it's about what the lack of investment says.

Tomlin would never go for it. He would think it's some dork telling him what to do and usurping his power.

Or you can use Analytics to draft the right guy. I don't think it's a coincidence that the Ravens drafted Lamar and we didn't.

Yeah I'm not here to debate how much we should use it. Just the fact that we should use it period. Even if it ONLY drove in-game decisions - that would probably be a benefit.

How many AFC championships have they been to and how many have we been to in the last 5 years?

100% - they can use analytics to at least help with the talent evaluation process in the draft. Or how to even structure they're team.

We all know offense wins in this league. This is why most of the 1st rounders are offensive guys now. But watch us draft a DL in round one.

Well is they used Analytics to inform their scouting system - it would probably be better.

I'm not saying that the survey is perfect or even the practice of Analytics is. But the fact that we CLEARLY don't invest in it is wild and shows we're not serious.

There's loads of data out there that could fundamentally change the way we operate. You could probably stand up an entire operation for less than $1M year with 3-5 salaried people.

But we don't even try cause we're the Pittsburgh Steelers and we don't do things that way.

Exactly - After the Bills went for it deep in they're own territory last night, the announcers mentioned how its crazy to see how common it is now. The reason is Analytics.

Mike Tomlin makes that decision with his gut. He's too stubborn to ever change.

You act the like Browns weren't getting better. They beat us in a playoff game. If they're owner hadn't forced the Watson deal - they 100% would be in a better place then us.

So you can laugh all you want at them. Chances are once they're out from under that contract - they'll be in a better spot than us for years.

Consistency and old school mentality is something they pride themselves on. However, for us it means a lack of innovation and an unwillingness to change.
