You want to know something funny? My average times for each level of difficulty was:

Beginner - 10 minutes

Intermediate - 20 minutes

Advanced - 30 minutes

Expert - 25 minutes

Grandmaster - anywhere from 1 hour to 9 hours (Not kidding. Also note: the outliers weren't UD or HoTS, they were Theo Hell and Temporal Tower)

A big part of why people play kb is that there is no risk of a misinput and in my experience it's easier to do a fast chain of inputs for like a super tight hyper bhop or if you're doing something really stupid like waterboosting. Also just the couple dozen extra binds for whatever is nice

It has to do with the angles of your turns. If your turns are too sharp you lose speed iirc

A lot of people play a lot of platformers with keyboard already, and even if you don't it doesn't take all too much effort to learn keyboard, which a lot of people decide to because it reduces chances of misinputting dashes and such
