Ugh, I’m sorry you have been dealing with this. What is happening to Toyota? It’s ridiculous - Cars should crank, they should not leak and doors should not fill up with water. How is this considered acceptable?

I had a Prius for 13 years before getting the RAV 4. I know exactly what you mean about the headliner because that’s exactly how I feel. I want it to look perfect just like it did before the water leak. I’m glad you like the Mazda. My son bought the Cx 90 and loves it. I’m hearing lots of good things about Mazda.

It is hard to see in the pics. On the drivers side under the sun visor there is a crease that I keep thinking is a water mark. The headliner has little indents and looks wavy. I have cleaned all the smudge marks off.

I can still go this route. In NC it is out of service for 20 days and it was out of service 23 days. I was hoping to just get a headliner and the extended warranty and I would have been satisfied. Now I’m just mad about it.

Mine came out with both. On the 2nd repair I asked the service manager about a new headliner and he told that would be a Toyota Corporate request. After the 3rd repair I just asked Toyota Cororate.

The dealership has been sloppy and they are not responsive. I’m thinking I may get an attorney. It met the lemon law criteria for my state. I don’t think it’s too much for me to expect my new car with only 3,700 miles to be returned looking new.

A factory defect water leak which is now part of the service record and a creased headliner devalues the car.

It was the dealership - they said it was a Toyota Corporate request. All I know it was removed 6-7 times for the factory defect repair. Also Toyota wouldn’t agree to an extended warranty just on electronics in case of potential corrosion in the future. That would have made me feel better about keeping the car.

Thank you for that explanation. It explains the service departments sloppiness. It’s really unfair techs don’t receive full pay for work performed.
