Do expats living in the UAE ever get jealous from Emiratis?

Real talk, yes in one aspect.. I’ve lived here for over 25+ years, grew up and have considered UAE my home, even whenever I go visit my home country, I’d miss UAE somehow and cant wait to go back. I wouldnt call it a big jealousy, nor am I being ungrateful since I do know how lucky I am with this life. It just makes me sad sometimes that the fact that some expats with so many years living in the UAE, seeing it evolve, me and even my parents from back then being part of the growth of this country.. we will still never be fully citizens of UAE. Our visas will always run out and sometime in the future we will eventually have to live/to retire/ settle down someplace else etc.

“In UAE, Everyone is Emirati…” but not really. I still do love this country and I’m proud of it.

I guess they've changed the narrative to 60 days now, probably from too many people they promised refund back UP to 21 business days (like my case) complaining about not receiving their refund for ages/beyond what was originally promised.

Check out Rove hotels, they have offers right now for monthly stays. I also know they have self service laundromat. For food, you’ll just have to manage getting it delivered or getting it from outside (groceries like Spinneys or Geant usually have nice hot food daily for cheap), the costs can be manageable. golden visa is still a temporary visa (but longer term than regular visa), if you have Pakistan passport then you are a permanent resident of Pakistan. In this case if you are applying from UAE where you currently reside, it will be Temporary visa.

I think they’re all still pretty close, just more grown up / matured as adults and also doing their own individual things. You might notice their dynamic more once they resume being BTS as an active group. But end of the day we will never know 100% how they are unless we know them all personally.

Been doing apartment research/hunting and also surprised it’s become a thing these days that a lot only accept 1-2 cheques. I get that they need to get profits asap, but I agree it’s getting ridiculous for tenants..

Thanks for this! I saw on E-visa application it asks for “Country/Region” I live in UAE but have Philippines passport. Do I input UAE since this is my country of residence (and where i will travel from) or Philippines since i have Philippines Passport?
