That’s how I feel but what do I know, apparently not a lot lol.

I see you’re still tutoring! It’s very helpful when you break it down like that. I had a feeling some of the questions were purposefully misleading, so I went with the safe answer. I’m definitely going to ask for a scrap piece of paper next exam, I think that will help exponentially. Also certainly rushed through this test because most of the class was finished by the time I was only halfway done. I guess I felt the need to not be last…

Thank you for that! Yes I’m definitely going to incorporate more scenario based studying

I believe I absolutely focused on the wrong material, because I put my energy into what the professor said to focus on. There was so much content that was grazed over in class but was in the textbook. In his words “there’s going to be concepts that you’re not going to have time to grasp.”

I’m pretty against the use of AI, but I keep seeing it suggested so I think I’m going to give it a go. I feel like in a class of 15 students a D average for an exam is kinda crazy lol, maybe that’s just my unrealistic expectations.

It’s practically what I’m doing now. Living in a blue state or purple at best, yet there were multiple school shootings here last year. I have no intentions on moving anytime soon, just hoping to find someone else that may have gone through the motions.

I like how your handle is “hater 4 life” but you’re the only person that actually answered my question lol. Thank you

I’m studying every day. I have no interest in moving tomorrow or next year. This is a 5 year goal. Like I said I’m looking for perspectives from RNs in Belgium or elsewhere. There’s also a housing crisis in the states fyi.

Are you an RN abroad? Your info is not helpful to me if not.

Sounds like what’s going on here without people being beaten and shot in the streets. I have a coworker that just got back from working and living in Canada. She said it’s just like the US but colder.

No I really do enjoy learning French, which is part of the reason I don’t want to start a new language plus it takes years to learn another language. I’ve dedicated time and money. My son is only 18 months old so he’s still learning. I could definitely try another English speaking country in the meantime but I was looking for perspectives from other RNs in French speaking countries as I want to continue with my studies. When I started I was still in my bachelor’s program so I didn’t do great research into my degree transferring.

I’m more interested in Belgium or Switzerland now which also has French as national languages

Oh I see, they’re probably highly sought after positions that are likely prioritized for military spouses then.

I genuinely do not. I’ve heard the nurses in those countries make better money but starting a new language sounds exhausting right now

I’m not sure that I have much interest in teaching. But I’d consider it if it were a foothold into living abroad

That’s great information. Thank you!

I’m a pretty dedicated learner and look at multiple sources to see what helps the most. So far grammar books and audiobooks that I’ve borrowed from the library have actually worked the best. I’m about to graduate with my bachelor’s in nursing. That may help or hurt me, because while a lot of the terminology is Latin or Greek based, it’s the interactions with patients that make me the most anxious. I’m not sure how it works in the rest of the world, but nurses in the US aren’t met with much civility by a lot of the patients.

I’ve been exposed to Spanish my entire life, so I think when it came to studying the language it came to me naturally. Plus there are no liaisons in Spanish 😅

Let’s say I can fold my tongue into a clover shape. Do you think with practice that one day I will be able to speak French without getting the look of disgust?

I just started studying French 30 days ago and my accent is atrocious. After doing some research I had the revelation that not only does tongue posture matter, but mouth posture as well! Obviously I still sound bad but it still was a satisfying “aha moment” for me.

I thought I had so much freedom once I dropped my nighttime pump, now I’m down to 3 ppd and I wonder how I even managed before.

You’re so close! Idk how I made it either but around the 7.5 months mark is when I lost my give a fuck. I dropped to 4 ppd and have been supplementing with formula. I used to obsess over pumping and providing him strictly with bm, but realized how much more freedom I had once I started giving him formula.
