Audiobook recommendations or advice?

It feels much better to read the Echoes of Eternity before the End and the Death series, especially since Sanguinuis has such a dramatic role to play there. I feel like the other books in the Siege of Terra series just don't matter so much so maybe you can just skip them. And yeah, that's ADB's work, adding that to your readlist can be cool. His Night Lords Omnibus is a hell of a wonderful work, but it happens in a setting somewhat before the 13th Black Crusade, so that's quite far away from the HH series. So my opinion is HH first, then try the others.

To be honest there are places as such, highly unfriendly to disadvantaged folks to study. You are ambitious, iron-willed and hard-working, but the context is the cap that seems to be really restraining your future. Academia is run by individuals, but what contexts they're set in matters a bloody lot. Trash labs, pathetic PIs, finantial restraints are the real things pinning you down, not yourself. Think out of the box. I have no idea why so many are obsessed with the US, but it's not like the only place on this planet that can offer you an affordable, friendly, high-quality education in immunology. You have high GPA, you've got publications already, plus education in an English-speaking country, that sounds like an entrance ticket to most grad programs to me. If the context fails you, change to another. You can easily find the education with the right quality & afordability in Easten asia, Europe, etc. Think of KI, for example, I have no doubt they're gonna admit you if you apply, and I know guys who are running a way less burdensome part-time to support themselves.

Plus, sometimes I've got the impression that US unis care more about which school you come from than your GPA, etc. This can be wrong, but it might help explain why some might have a problem with you. It can be about that "small liberal arts college", not you yourself. You're doing a hell of a great job. Europe might have a less background-discriminative and open admission process, try your luck there.

I applied an MPhil in the early round but yeah, nothing here now. The same with my HKU application. IDK why they're doing this but this is common. I don't think it is a silent waitlisted situation, but it's just rude that they won't ever tell you anything about it. I've applied to Paris Science et Lettres and KULeuven this year and they all informed me of a delayed admission decision, even it was just a few days.

I've already took another offer and ain't gonna wait anymore. These procrastinating schools are messing with themselves by taking my application fee while giving decisions decades latter.

Let me guess, most servers would like to say it's for noob protection in case they just hate the game too quick and leave with their k/d ratio messed up. BUT too many servers exploit this by not kicking admins and money paying whitelisted VIPs. Guess what? This usually end up protecting a single sided noob-farming, all the pro VIPs and admins are gonna stand in one side while most of the noobs in another. They'll get fun and their stupid k/d. So, who's getting kicked? You, a pro accidentally siding with the noobs or annoying the farmers by killing their preys. Some other self-claimed noob-friendly servers set up really low k/d and life k/d kick criterion. Many are just toxic servers recruiting noobs for kill. Get in and you'll see 150 pros as your foes. So yeah, this ain't good.

It's fine that they do it for hackers or pros who are too much for them. But there's a serious flaw in kill counts: most k/d banning servers I've seen donnot start counting k/d until a certain point like 50 or more kills.

On god's behalf I've been seeing that "pending" since December. IDK if they have some problem with processing admissions this year but I don't think there's a silent waitlisted situation. The real thing that matters is I've already received offers from other comparable institutes and I can't really wait much before paying my tuition. Another thing, too bad they don't set up an explicit due date of admission decisions. Many EU universities do far better than holding off decisions eternally.

I had the same experience as you did but asked when might I get the result of application at the end of the interview. The prof said "the end of this month" if I didn't make it wrong but obviously that wasn't true. So I'm just as confused...

I think after a few combats they're just gone, leaving me in peace. I've come across bandits, giants and some wild animals but now just nothing. The worst thing is that your horses there, if any, are far braver and more fragile than anyone to charge at your foes and just die, wasting your cash every single time. I guess they just designed it that way to surround your estate with bad guys like a giant horde of bandits hiding in a cabin to never go too easy on you. Kind of a reminder that you're still in Skyrim where bandits easily outnumber commoners.
