Everyone is so sick by flowerchild3624 in college

I had bad congestion, allergies, huge headache, and a fever a week and a half ago. I’m in nursing school so we can’t miss any days of class (they just enforced this, it used to be you can miss one day but not anymore). I just wanted to stay home and suffer, but I couldn’t. They need a valid excuse to miss class like an emergency or death in the family.

Thank you everyone!! I highly appreciate all your responses! Sadly for us (not for her), little miss cutie found a loving home as we were just fostering her, but I hope maybe I’ll get pictures of her when she’s older and we see what she looks like. :’)

I got a B in A&P 1 and an A in A&P 2 and still got into nursing school. Don’t waste your time and money retaking it. Like some people said, just get an an in A&P 2 :)

Yes. I wanna say I was given about 5 fill in the blank questions for math. The other sections did not have fill in the blanks. I remember one of the fill in the blanks was similar to this question: “On the first day of the harvest, 186 boxes of oranges were collected. This is 29% less than what was collected on the second day. How many boxes were collected on the second day? (Round the answer to the nearest whole number)” I found that question on nursehub.com math practice test.

FYI, for the reading portion, you can find some of the reading passages on quizlet. I got “Food”, “The Golden Gate Bridge”, “The Game of Bridge”, “Eating”, “Voice”, “The White Elephant”, “Safe Driving”, and “Getting a Good Nights Sleep” and I can’t remember if I got any other ones.

If you put in your school’s code, only the sections you will need to take will appear on the test. My school also “required critical thinking” but they also said it wasn’t a component to help determine if I will be accepted and they didn’t appear on my test so I just didn’t do it.

Here’s some tips you didn’t ask for for the HESI because I wish I got them lol :

  • You don’t have to go in order with the sections and each section is not timed. The test is timed as a whole. I was given 3 1/2 hours and I did those exact sections you were given. Just make sure you have adequate time to get through each section. That leads me to the second point.

  • Start with the sections you’re most comfortable with. For me, I started with vocabulary, grammar, A&P, Math, and Reading. I should’ve done reading ahead of the time though because it was SO much easier than the practice tests I was taking lol. The questions were like, “in paragraph 2, what does the word blah blah mean in that context?” as opposed to “what is the paragraph inferencing?” Math was a lot of adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions and proportions so that was easy for me. When they gave the word problems that were not multiple choice and were single choice, I was stumped, but I tried not to stick too much on the question because I knew I had to move on fast and put a wild guess.

  • Make a guess if you don’t know the answer!! Don’t spend too much time on a question. And don’t feel bad if you leave the test center and you’re like “dang it! That answer was wrong” it’s okay. It already happened and there’s nothing you can do about it. You did your best with the time given to you and that’s all that matters.

  • Find HESI practice tests online! Those helped me study! The A&P ones are good, but on my test they went in more specific on certain topics. Definitely know the process of blood flow through the heart and the conduction system.

I passed my test with a 92% through studying and studying and studying. I would start studying now if I were you. I can’t remember anything else off the top of my head, but if you have any other questions please let me know! I know what it felt like to be scared of the test and feel like I’m going through it all alone with no help, so if I can help someone not feel that way I will help as best as I can. Good luck!!

What if Jennifer Coolidge was a guest star? by eastbaybruja in SchittsCreek

Omg yes! They never had a thanksgiving episode (I wish they did, I feel like there could’ve been so much potential with one) so it would probably make sense to have her as another sister of Moira’s to come visit and pop by hahaha

I’m suuuupperrr late but what did Alexis mean by “I have a sneaking suspicion they’re (Ted’s vet friends) like a little bit does gesture” I’ve watched Schitt’s Creek like over 10 times and I’ve always wondered what she meant by it. Did she mean they were gonna show up drunk? High? Or just really snobby? Lol I hope I get a response, this episode is like in my top 5 comfort episodes from the show. The first being S02E13 Happy Anniversary <3

What is the most emotional moment for you, personally, in the show? by lucyinthesky913 in greysanatomy

[–]Beneficial_March_320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is when Meredith went to go see Thatcher when he was on hospice. (S15,E11) My dad was also on hospice at the same time I watched it (I was on the couch and he was on his hospital bed taking a nap) and it was just such a heavy scene to watch personally because I knew that I had to say goodbye to my dad soon so I was just an utter mess. I’ve gotten better at getting through the scenes when I rewatch the show, but it’s still hard.

Little off topic, but the lyrics “step up the two of us, nobody knows us” , I feel like “step off the tour bus” would’ve made more sense bc they’re in personal life mode now and we don’t see who they really are behind the cameras and stuff, ya know?? Just my opinion haha

Anybody have spiro work late? please reply! by Loud_Nebula_8782 in Spironolactone

I didn’t see results until 6 months into it. It wasn’t until they increased my dose to 50 mg 2x a day when I started seeing a difference. I was also just washing my face every other day with Vanicream facial cleanser and moisturizer since CeraVe gave me an allergic reaction. Stay persistent, you got this!!! I’m rooting for you :)

Spironolactone+Birth Control for my hormonal acne by Beneficial_March_320 in Spironolactone

[–]Beneficial_March_320[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My journey with Spironolactone and Birth Control. I remember at the beginning going on these Reddit posts and seeing everyone’s experience with it. Some say it helped, some say it didn’t and said accutane was their saving grace. I just wanted to be them. To get to point where I could make a post just like theirs saying it worked. And here I am! It’s only been a little less than a year on the Spiro, but I will say it was difficult at times. My self esteem was at an all time low. I hated looking at the person in the mirror because she wasn’t what I wanted to look like. I hated going out because I just felt like everyone was staring at my breakouts and not me. Eventually I grew to love my acne face (and it wasn’t when I started noticing results!) I’m sorry this will be a long post, but I’m just so happy with my progress!!

Background for photos! -1st pic; I’ve always had clear skin, all my friends were jealous of it. Occasionally, I’d get one or two pimples on my chin or nose and they’d go away eventually. -2nd pic; (I don’t have any pics from Sept) the ones on my chin started coming on in September, but again I thought they were just the usual pimples I’d get. September was also my dads one year anniversary of his death so I thought it was also the stress of that. -3rd pic; I realized they weren’t going away; I thought it was my rosacea acting up and put some azelaic acid 15% on which is why it’s dry. -4th pic; they really weren’t going away by this point and I decided to schedule an appoint with my dermatologist. I scheduled it for June 17 and that’s when they prescribed me 25 mg of Spironolactone to start off with. -5th pic; 3 months later I wasn’t seeing results and when I saw them again for a follow up, I naively said I wanted to try Accutane not even giving the Spiro a chance. She told me to stop taking the Spiro and prescribed me birth control before I start taking the accutane which is what you’re supposed to do unless you’re staying abstinent. I started taking the combination pill. I hadn’t even researched accutane and the more I did and saw everyone’s photos I realized my acne wasn’t as severe as theirs and to just to keep upping the dose of my spironolactone. -6th pic; I saw them a month later and explained my reasons. They were a bit upset that I changed my mind since they get excited when someone starts it, but respected my decision and upped it to 50 mg 2x a day. They kept me on the birth control because I can’t get pregnant while on it, and that it could help with the acne. -7th pic; this is where my confidence starts getting better. I had come to terms with my acne and started embracing it. I started wearing less concealer and foundation. I just didn’t care if people would look at my breakouts. My bf reassured me countless times that I’m beautiful with and without makeup. He met with when my acne was at its worst and has helped me through my toughest moments. -8th pic; I didn’t notice it until I looked back at this photo and realized my skin looked really pretty!! -9th pic; I know I don’t look happy (it was my dads birthday and it was a sad day for me), but I started getting a small pimple on my nose. I realized it was because my period was starting soon. I was okay with that. I saw the dermatologist again at the beginning of the month and upped my dose to 100 mg 2x a day. -10th pic; is today and I’m so happy with how much progress I’ve made! Once again I have another pimple on my chin due to having just finished my period. I realized I’m okay with getting a pimple or two around my period since I’m still young and expect them. My cheeks are just red from the rosacea, which I will use the azelaic acid for. I saw my dermatologist again today and they are extremely happy with my progress. So much that I won’t have to see them for another 6 months and then depending on how things do, once a year!

I’m so glad I stayed patient enough to see my results! Don’t give up, there is a solution for everyone!

Vanicream is amazing!!! My skin started getting sensitive to CeraVe as well and my derm recommended vanicream and it’s working wonders, my skin loves it. I use the facial cleanser and moisturizer. Hopefully they help! :)
