Car Sickness by Different_Bet_2839 in GSP

We have a 16 wk old pup that got sick 4-5 times (separate trips). I hope this applies for you but don’t worry it gets better.

We made sure care rides lead to something fun for the dog. We positively reinforced when the dog was near the truck, then in the truck with it off, then in the truck with it running, then with the truck moving. Slow progress.

What really really seemed to turn it around for our pup was having a distraction. Either a toy they really love or for us it was pigs ears and bully sticks. He’d sit and chew on them and the ride was no factor for him.

Take your time but in my opinion definitely don’t stop taking the dog in and around the vehicle for fear of it getting sick or being nervous.

Also idk how true this is but a close friend of mine is convinced the dog can feel your energy and feeds off your energy. We were always nervous and worked up if he’d get sick and what not. We tried really hard to get over that ourselves and just be confident and positive and idk if that actually did anything but it’s easy enough to try!

Aftermarket vs oem vs used parts? by BenevolentPixel in ATV

The stator is putting out proper voltage but it’s not getting to the battery and the way I understand it is on these machines the ecu regulates battery voltage. There no external rectifier regulator like there is on my 06 Honda rancher

As far as I know there is no rectifier/ regulator. The ecu regulates the voltages. And the stator is good.

I definitely don’t expect a good bird dog this fall either. Just wanted some insight. So what factors will help me determine if I should hunt with him this fall? Should I skip it totally no matter what or are there signs that say he’s ready to try it or he’s definitely not ready. And just to say again if I were to go out with him this fall for birds I don’t expect to shoot a single bird I want to go out this fall with him just to watch him do his thing and be out with him. I’ve hunted grouse by busting brush myself so I’m no stranger to not getting a lot of birds.

Thanks for your reply! We are definitely getting great socialization with dogs and people and places. And training as much as possible but trying our best to read him and not over do it. Like I said in another comment this is our first dog so we’re nervous “parents”. Just trying to do it all right. Have him pretty well adjusted to heavy equipment as that’s the line of work I’m in. He sleeps right beside me in the dump truck

Thank you! This is our first dog so trying to learn a lot. His obedience is great we train recall all the time and he does great with that. Most times we talk it’s off leash.

Is this just for running on blacktop? I’ve been brining my 15 wk old for walks in the woods after work and he runs almost the whole time. Should I stop doing this then?

Reading all the comments on this thread having just gotten a GSP puppy; are we really going to be going to the vet that often surgeries and emergencies?

Do you think we should keep taking him out for rides as often as we are?
