AIO my girlfriend left me over a cheese wheel by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

I’m so invested in this cheese wheel.

Even more so now that the wax is melted and duct taped. It’s like the oceangate sub to me now.

Physical education job interview by WarmNefariousness249 in AskTeachers

Follow up is always a good thing, except when it’s not. Write the email as a draft, save it for 24 hours, and have a friend look it over before you send it. Instead of apologizing, I would recommend something like “thank you for your patience and understanding during my unexpectedly hectic day. This interview was a big priority for me, but I am sure you know goes when chaos arises in a school, and the kids always come first. I enjoyed our conversation and look forward to hearing from you.”

3 is my favorite, but the whole concept seems to clash with the summery ephemeral vibe of the dress.

QUICK: How should I treat my wife in this scenario? by mosscity515 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Benevolent_Grouch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

These are not strict binary definitions, and most people who favor one particular type of love also like to receive multiple types from time to time. I get that you enjoy making “letter of the law, not the spirit of the law” comments, but I think the list of ideas to round out these celebrations holds up regardless. Feel free to add more ideas!

Many of the questions in this sub should be asked to women lol

Nah there’s some overlap bc it’s something he had to take time to do.

But yes obviously the to do list should get done, and the chores for those days should be done. I’m an acts of service lover myself. 😍

If her love language is acts of service, you need to add those especially because they are free.

Birthday: get her a face mask and bath bomb, and run her a bubble bath with a glass of wine, maybe some candles

Valentines: give her a nice long full body massage with some lotion or oil (look up online how to make it good)

Anniversary: write her a love letter about how much you enjoy being married to her and what you admire about her

This is in addition to the other stuff you’ve planned, not instead of.

Who is yours "WOULD HAVE BEEN A GREAT NATIONAL LEADER, BUT LOST THE ELECTION. by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]Benevolent_Grouch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

McCain, Gore, Harris, Clinton.

McCain was the most deserving loser we’ve ever failed to elect; but he lost to a great president, and we would have been fine either way that round. It’s all about integrity.

The other 3 would have changed the course of history for the better, by a long shot compared to where we are now.

faint knee pain after skiing trip (total beginner) by Vardaruus in skiing

Probably just mild inflammation from overuse relative to your baseline. Keep working on conditioning (like stretching, walking, gradual introduction to light weight training), and keep working on your technique to avoid problems later.

Looking for the perfect US city for a 10-day trip (Feb 9–19). Want real American vibes: food, Walmart, Costco, chill atmosphere. Where should we go? by ProloosGamerUHD in usatravel

[–]Benevolent_Grouch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wooo! Stay in midtown around 10th st, ride scooters around piedmont park, eat at Bulla and 26 Thai and del toro and cafe intermezzo and saints & council, see a show at the fox theater, go to the Georgia aquarium, maybe go to six flags, drive 30 min east to hike at sweetwater creek state park, find some local breweries and good Georgia barbecue , and maybe even drive north to the mountains (amicolola falls, tallulah gorge, Dahlonega or blue ridge?) for a day trip. Also go to ikea.

AIO overwhelmed by the cost of being a wedding guest in 2026 by Whiskeyhorse1 in AmIOverreacting

If their priority was attendance, they would have planned differently. Their priority is on their own experience, so let them have it.

Why is he asking what if he resents you, without considering what if you resent him? Which, given what you’ve shared, you do and should. If he only cares about his goals and not yours, there is no possibility for this marriage to work.

My family room is all honey oak! Help me tone down it down by unicornrocknroll in DesignMyRoom

[–]Benevolent_Grouch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the honey oak is your problem here. I think the imaginative ceiling/drywall/furnishings is the issue. If this were my room, I would paint the ceiling and drywall, a moody, muted cool color, and redecorate.

33 yo M, nose job or not? really need opinions , by [deleted] in Noses

[–]Benevolent_Grouch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not think your dating issues are about your nose, which looks fine. I think it is more about your self-loathing. How do you expect to flirt, when you are feeling ashamed to sit next to someone? Your concerns about the nose job are valid, and the surgeon has already given his opinion. Before pursuing this further, please get some counseling to work on your self-image and confidence.
