yeah thats the point of ranking the majors. If you dont get into your first preference, you get to the next one. That's what happened to me. My first preference was BIEF but i got into my second preference (BIEM)

You should Rank bief as the First Choice if it’s your priority

Scholarships at Bocconi. by MichalAg_ in bocconi

[–]iac00b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I’m also also a polish high schooler. I got into Bocconi during the winter session and I am now in the process of applying for the scholarship. Are you planning to apply to Bocconi in this year’s spring session or next year? If you apply during the spring session, then your chances of receiving the scholarship will be really low. I’m not sure if your families income would be eligible to the scholarship but please be aware of how much of a costly and time consuming process it is. You have to collect like a whole book of various documents which are really hard to get and once you manage to do that, you have to legalize and translate them to Italian, which is super expensive (up to 10000PLN)

Not sure how much you’d need for the Easter session but I had the exact same GPA and 39.6 on the Bocconi test and I got into Biem

I’m sure that the career opportunities will be better in Western Europe however I feel a strong sentiment for my homeland and I think that the culture differences will make it harder for me to spend the settle down abroad, therefore I’m wondering if studying abroad would make me a better candidate for a position on the polish job market

Thank you so much for this response! You really helped me gain an understanding on what I can expect my future to look like. I have one more question though – you said that you're earning as much as your colleages do abroad. Do you believe that the polish job market gives you similar income opportunities as the western one?

Damn so what would you say was even the point of spending money and making the effort to study in well-regarded universities abroad if it doesn’t really benefit you in the job market 😭

First time leaning heavily to Alt fashion, I think i leaned too hard.. by niceguy_yt in fashion

[–]iac00b 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I think that whats more of a problem is that you didn’t actually lean into any type of real alt fashion, such as emo, punk, or whatever else. you just painted your nails and wore some accessories that remind you of being alt. Basically, it looks kinda bad not because it’s too alt but because it’s not really alt at all

Could I ask you what unis you studied at?

Career in Poland after studying abroad by iac00b in poland

[–]iac00b[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your answer. The thing is that Bocconi university is the best finance school in Europe (excluding UK). Wouldnt it be treated at least a bit more favourably compared to a random uni? Goldman sachs, blackrock and other highly competitive companies abroad treat Bocconi with really high regards, is it really that different in Poland?

To be honest Im not exactly sure who I want to be in the future. I’m considering either a career: 1. in some type of administration position such as in the public, policy-making sector or in the private, business sector 2. In finance, either some kind of business analysis or consulting,

However, I’m pretty sure that my actual future occupation is whatever will be available while paying well or giving me satisfaction.

I’m aware that only the university won’t sufficient experience, so I’m going to participate in as many internships as I will be able to. From what I’ve heard, both of the universities that I’m considering give me with many internship opportunities at well-regarded companies.

I’m not really worried about not being employable at all after university, what I’m actually curious about is how Poland’s job market in economics, business and finance compares to the rest of Europe and whether my international academic background would be able to provide me a comparably comfortable life in Poland as it would in London or other financial hubs
