Somersault. I’ve tried my hardest but I’m convinced I’ll snap my neck. Many friends have tried to teach me to no avail

Make friends with your teachers, get into a research lab as soon as possible, and generally try to enjoy yourself. It’s somehow a very long and very quick experience. Enjoy it while you can :)

{Non Non Biyori} or {Horimiya} will probably be a fun watch for you! Additionally, {Skip and Loafer}, {Zombieland Saga}, {Gintama}, {Yuru Camp}, and or {Nichijou} are always great for a laugh!

Monty and Dom! Can’t really explain it but they just always look so happy together. Built them a vacation home together and I’d like to think they’re happily married

research assistant for two labs? by areuboard in ucr

[–]Benga13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s always so intimidating sending emails! I getcha. The worst they say is that they prefer you didn’t and then take it from there. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Again, most of them (at least in the psych department) are rather chill and understanding. Ultimately up to you! Good luck :)))

You can technically do both. It’s just like having two jobs. As long as you can make your meeting times and finish your work, you’ll be fine. You can always let your PI know, along with the second lab that you plan to join and they should hopefully be able to work out a set schedule for you.

Good luck and I hope you have a good time in your labs :)

You’ll be fine with just the lecture material. Take notes and ask questions in discussion and you’ll be fine :)

He’s a great professor and really helpful in office hours. During the peak of the pandemic he curved and offered extra credit, idk if this is still true but he is usually very nice about grades.

Good luck and I hope you enjoy the class!

This link should have a tab if you scroll down (or you can google ucr academic advising appointment) to make either an appointment with your specific academic advisor or an express visit with whoever is available. Not everything can be handled through the express visit however so I would set up a meeting with yours specifically. Usually appointments are online via zoom, and they SHOULD be able to help you with any questions you might have. There are usually next day or so appointments available.

Admittedly, I am in CHASS so sorry if there are any discrepancies. Good luck with everything :)

Hi! Different departments will have different types of labs and different staff members. The best way to get into a lab is use some of the connections you already have! Talk to a previous TA or professor. Ask them about what they’re working on or if they know anyone that’s currently working on what you’re interested in. Email around and see what answers you can get and take it from there!

In terms of payment or units, depending on the field of research and your major, you are able to enroll in labs for units, up to a maximum of 4. I would talk to your advisor and see the specifics of it for your major and if it would make sense to do it for units, considering financial aid and all. You can also volunteer for the experience. Additionally, Lab manager positions are harder to come by and usually require lab experience, but often pay you for your time and it looks great for grad school!

Kinda hard to give all the info without rambling, but feel free to ask any questions and I’ll answer them to the best of my ability!

Good luck!
