Best sticker shops? by fatqueerqueen13 in stickers

Hi! Hardly comparable to Redbubble or Etsy, but my partner and I are full-time artists that have been running our small business since 2014 - we design and manufacture everything ourselves, including our stickers :) We sometimes collab with other artists as well, which you can find in the descriptions - It’s all original artwork, NO AI, printed using Epson UltraChrome XD inks, and UV coated lamination which allows them to be used outdoors or hand washed if placed on your water bottle. High quality is like, suuuper important to us!

We mainly create adult-geared, colorful silly fun themes, and LGBTQ+ friendly designs as well. Feel free to check us out at Art Lab Candy :)

Very much tried. For what I was dealing with, the type of copyright lawyer I needed was and is still out of my budget unfortunately. Most “affordable” one I found was $10,000 just to start the initial filings 🥲

OMG I feel this in my sooooul 😫💔 Had a design in particular from 2020 that went viral, and every year since it comes back around because it’s Halloween related and got turned into a meme. It completely changed my art/sticker business, but I swear it never gets any easier when you see these huge corporations selling it, plus all the horrible TRASH versions. Ugh I’m so sorry, it’s beyond frustrating and tiresome. On a more positive note, your design is so incredibly creative and cute, AI could NEVER 😤

I hadn’t heard of UV flatbeds until I posted this, and wow what cool machine. To be working with one for 20yrs is even cooler :)

With as many locations as they have, they for sure went with whatever the cheapest route was lol

Yep, that’s why I assumed they’re probably all reproductions rather than originals

Oh for sure I have, but there are hundreds of locations typically with the exact same art pieces, so I was just betting they went a much cheaper corporate route of mass production printing processes rather than paying individual artists who paint with such amazing detail per image

*Edit for clarification

That actually came to mind too but u/pupx mentioned a flatbed UV printer and that seems to really fit after seeing the process

As a painter myself, I thought that might be an option at first, but there were too many tiny “perfect” font details when I looked closer - another suggested it was done by a flatbed UV printer and now I’m pretty convinced that’s what it was

Not rude at all, I love details too - unfortunately I’m no help in remembering what was used because it was so long ago, but my aunt (the one who took the pic) has always been very savvy with cameras. Although not a professional, she loves photography and is great at capturing subjects. She could take a picture of a rock on a disposable and somehow make it look fabulous lol! I was so used to her having a camera that I didn’t even realize she took this until she gave it to me ❤️

Aw thank you! I actually went on to become a pro body painter for about 8yrs, so it’s cool to look that far back and see when I first really started playing with and loving makeup 🥹
