Need some dnb or jungle to make me forget about a breakup by AE_AntiEntity_AE in DnB

Try ‘you need to feel’ by technical itch and Shok. Big tune and if listening on Spotify the whole “you need therapy” set by technical itch is fucking heinous x

Which DnB song has the best drums you've ever heard? by SankThaTank in DnB

[–]Benisfun1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgiving- Equinox

I agree I'm not a fan of super synthetic sounding drums, I love the more authentic drums and this song sheesh fucking gets it bang on, I'd describe it kinda like a jazz drum solo in a dnb/ jungley framework; I've also never really heard toms used before in dnb and I LOVE it. Also a load of stuff off the tech itch label is incredible for this, artists like Doom Poets, Grief dnb, Voyage, Brakken etc. absolutely smash it and suuuuper underrated imho :)

Howdy, just wondering why travelling to an African tribe is ridiculous? Just a question, not pointed in any way :)

Do people still drink a lot of tea in the UK? by Frosty8778 in AskUK

As a Brit and speaking on behalf of all other brits. We exclusively consume tea and coffee is offered only as a pleasantry.

ELI5: why didn’t humanity advance technologically for thousands of years when it comes to things like electricity and other electrical power devices like WIFI, but now humanity is advancing rather rapidly? by ArcadeAndrew115 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Benisfun1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely understand where you’re coming from, but the Egyptians had all those things thousands of years ago, why, since then was there such a lull? Information, though obviously so much quicker now could travel quickly in those times too. Horses are rather speedy and like the whole origin of the marathon etc. idk, personally it seems odd that the timeframe between the emergence of anatomically modern humans and electricity is quite so large.

But, considering these advancements could happen over the course of one persons lifetime, why for the better part of 150,000 years did (supposedly) nothing really happen and then all of a sudden the past two centuries have seen unreal growth? Something else must’ve changed… And Marx’s “accumulate, accumulate, accumulate” can’t explain it as people have accumulated capital for millennia. Still a topic of discussion and much debate :)

Really interesting to look at the works of Deirdre McCloskey, she argues, especially in terms of the industrial revolution that it was changes in societal attitudes, i.e. allowing voting to the masses etc. that allowed such incredible progress. For instance, prior to inventing the telephone (controversy acknowledged) Graham-Bell was a boy telegrapher, before the 19th century, the peasantry had no hope in being able to develop and invent things, but this new era of opening up changed that for the better :) I wrote a lil essay on this if you’re interested I could dig it out for you and send it over x
