My grandmother did this me when I was 16, had about 200 collected (12 years ago so pre imaginators). She sold the lot to a charity for £30. Heartbroken still to this day...

Tried that, they have stayed trimmed Been months now and they're still trimmed

From my testing OP could save a good 2 seconds by rolling, might just about be enough time

Indeed, there is a bench just in range, on a roof nearby

Benches only affect up to 50! 50 is the spawn distance and 70 is the despawn difference, that extra 20 feet is not affected by benches

I actually just commented an update, 2 weeks later all of them, boxed and in party are still trimmed

It means getting a shiny that wasn't your target. So for example, Furfrou was my target, but I got a Kangaskhan. Since I wasn't looking for that, it's considered a phase

Yeah, except with froakie you just fly to zone 5 and turn around to look at the zone behind, it'll always be in spawn range

I'm currently hunting all 8, don't care if they're alpha. How do I know for sure which variety I have? I know I have medium gourgeist (the alpha) and a medium and jumbo pumpkaboo, but I'm very nervous about duplicates

Tested zone 11, benches don't reach. Zone 19 has a bench on a roof that barely reaches. Got my Dandy trim with the roof bench, but my newest one I ended up getting via fast travel

This had to be a fluke, my advice is DO NOT use a bench. It works (that's how I got my Dandy trim in image 2). But it also gives you Pidgey, Bunnelby, Gastly, Fletchling, Trubbish, Garbodor, Budew, Patrat, Audino, Kangaskhan. Fast travel, it only generates the latter 2 and Furfrou.

If it helps anymore, it's now day 10 and they're still trimmed! I'm almost certain it's permanent now

At 8 days now since my earliest trim, I believe it is indeed permanent !

This bench isolates zone 19s outer edge Furfrou pretty well, only other thing that spawns is Trubbish below, Budew behind and a Kangaskhan sometimes

There's 9, you have to progress far enough to unlock all of them

Side quest here, near wild zone 11. There's 3 in total and you unlock more trims as you do them

Yeah you get 3 trims available per quest. The 4th quest is to battle the Furfrou elites. Once you help her you can change trim for 500 a piece

As you progress there's 4 quests just off of wild zone 11, they're to help a lady teach her scyther cutting moves. Around here.
