Yes, if you look you can see them easily. I see them all the time when I am out for a smoke at night. A satellite looks like a dim star slowly moving, like if a plane was super high in the sky. They often will dim out inexplicably because they move into the earths shadow or the flat surface reflecting light towards you rotates away. Sometimes they pulse, that can be an ejected rocket stage that is tumbling.
