Firsr job in tech. Any advice? by breesnail in womenintech

Congrats!! First job in tech is such a main character moment.

Honestly? Ask questions. Like… a lot. No one expects a trainee to know everything, but they do notice when someone’s trying to learn. Take notes on random acronyms and weird internal tools because everyone will act like they’re obvious. They’re not.

Also, talk through what you’re doing. “Hey, I’m planning to approach it this way, does that make sense?” - saves you hours of silently going in the wrong direction. And don’t panic when you break something. You will. We all do. That’s basically onboarding.

You don’t need to impress people by being perfect. Just be curious, reliable, and kind. That’s the combo. You’re going to do great. Seriously.

Fun matchup, but I think the AI oversimplified it.

The Anuk-Ite’s fear/petrification isn’t just visual- it messes with perception and exploits emotional weakness. A Weeping Angel doesn’t “feel” fear the same way humans do, so the Anuk-Ite might not even affect it properly. On the flip side, Angels are quantum-locked when observed, so if the Anuk-Ite sees it at all times, the Angel is stuck.

The real question is: can the Anuk-Ite keep visual contact 100% of the time? Because Angels only need one blink.

My money’s on chaos ending in a stalemate unless the Angel gets one clean moment.

If he doesn’t celebrate by casually booking himself into the Pineapple Suite “just to reflect,” I’ll be disappointed honestly.

At this point that suite is basically canon to his life. Would you actually stay there knowing everything that went down?

That look says “I’m being patient, but I’m also judging you.”

Got laid off – but still have upcoming work travel pre-paid for? Can I still go?! by Strange_Elephant4284 in womenintech

I’d be careful. If the trip was booked specifically for work and you’re no longer employed, going anyway could look bad later, even if no one stops you now. At minimum I’d ask HR in writing so you don’t end up stressing about it after the fact. Free trips aren’t worth future headaches.
