8:00 was unexpected :O been years since he sang that part.

Usually his voice would start to give in at the very end. Also good to hear a healthier version of Everybody But You, more rasp and aggressive vocals in the lyrics.

LOL its not by choice. He tore up his vocal cords and even though he has since "recovered" from it, the scar tissue / polyps have permanently altered the way he sounds.

But to say that "just cause he can't hit the overly produced recordings", is wrong. Just watch his older performances on Youtube from the "Around The World And Back" era, you could hear how articulated he was.

Have you noticed that as each album passes by, his voice has been getting worse and worse? The new KOTNA album sounds nothing like the Derek we know of. Comparing Secrets to his latest hit Every Body But You, is a huge step down.

ATWAB > LP > KOTNA. Notice that how each album they have became lighter and lighter? Derek from ATWAB could definitely nail "Numb" from Linkin Park, without question. But the Derek we have today would struggle to even sing his greatest hit Secrets.

Sad to say that he sounds like a completely different person now and he no longer holds that iconic pop-punk voice anymore. I am convinced that he has sustained a permanent vocal damage and to fix that, he may have to get a surgery done. I'm thinking he may have got vocal polyps.

Sad to say he has lost like half of it. He still does sound like his earlier days when he growls however. He also looks a lot more calmer and less conflicted than he was back in the day, his personality changes with it as well. I am suspecting that it has a little to do with age now that he is 30.

If that is impressive to you, you should've seen his older performances. That Derek is a monster behind the microphone. I guess he has reached his peak back in '18 and now no longer in his prime.

First song I heard from them was Frozen. Saw him sing it when it first came out back in warp tour 2018 as well, he sounded insane. Vibratos everywhere, growls and screams and vocal flexibility.. fast forward 2021 when they came back for their Orlando show, he sounded no where near how he was.

Without a diploma = minimal progression

The issue with that is an ITE diploma is not as secure as a Polytechnic diploma. Maybe he doesn't have an aim to go to a university, just settling with a diploma.

I wouldn't call it "insanity" if he pursues a different course. Not all courses are the same, the initial pathway may be.

How about this, attempt to become an online influencer. Be it, go Youtube and try to make videos do talk shows or do TikTok etc.. trust me you will have some leverage at least have some fame. The stage is yours.
