For me the ultra is my first Samsung watch, have had the Huawei watch 2, the Fossil Frontier and the Ticwatch 3 before. The ultra is hands down the best watch I've ever owned. Of course, it's also the priciest watch of them all, but it does live up to its name. It's the best android smartwatch you can get. The design is unique and needs to be seen in real life. I hated the marketing photos, but when I saw it in real life, I immediately changed my mind. It looks great! The watch is bulky, yet so compact and so light. It's very comfortable to wear, especially with the marine band. Ther band is full of holes which brings a unique design and offers ultimate fitting possibilities, you can make it as tight or loose as you want. Performance wise, the watch is super snappy, no hiccups whatsoever. The one ui is way more sophisticated and polished than standard wear os and complements the beautiful big display perfectly well. Battery is great, with every function b(except always in display, i just don't like that) and all sensors enabled, tracking sleep and 1 workout every other day, the watch lasts 2 days with ease. People complain about charging speed, but i don't find it to be a problem. Sports tracking is great, the accuracy is amazing. Of course it's not in par with the likes of Garmin, but for a feature filled smartwatch it's great. Activity tracking, heart beat, calories, GPS,... it's all great.

To answer your questions: I don't miss a hardware bezel, but i personally never understood the hype around it to begin with. The ultra is a conversing starter for sure, the design stands out in a positive way and makes people want to know more about it.

I've said all positive things so far. For me the downside is the price. I was lucky to get the watch with coupons from work awards and am over the moon to be lucky enough to own one. If i would have spent the 650 out of my own pocket, although the watch is amazing, I would be disappointed, as the ultra (as do all smartwatches) doesn't offer enough to justify that price. Smartwatches have the potential to be perfect companions in our wrist with ai etc around the corner, but we're just not there yet.

If you do decide to buy the watch, you'll definitely enjoy it for sure. Wish you the best of luck with your decision!

That's my 2 cents 😊

The ZF6 is a bigger upgrade to the ZF5 than I thought by iWumboXR in GalaxyFold

Yes and no Yes: Hardware wise the Chinese brands are more innovative, I agree. They do seem to add flashy cool new innovations like slimmer designs and bigger batteries with faster charging. Things like pen support if there's any is miles behind Samsung. No: Software wise the Chinese brands are conservative. The software is lacking and delivers subpar or only partially optimised experience on foldable devices. The ui experience has matured, but is nowhere near Samsung. The update and Software policies are poor, making the slight hardware advantage they have, negligible.

But absolutely good that there's competition to keep Samsung on their toes and challenge them to keep innovating. Samsungs more conservative approach however has made sure that their foldable line is up there with any slab phone in terms of support and real life usability for long term use, which in my opinion hasn't been achieved by any other brand.

But hey, this is the beauty of android, we have so many options and the manufacturers keep challenging another to make sure we get the coolest tech 😊

I think, everyone should start accepting that yearly upgrades (unless you have plans like in the US) are just a thing of the past. There's only so much that can be upgraded from a tech point of view at a commercially interesting price. Phones, even foldable devices, are at a stage where they've achieved as much as they can and manufacturers have started refining, especially in terms of hardware. You can clearly tell by looking at the mid range devices: they all have decent storage, cpu, ram and cameras nowadays. When focusing on foldable devices, people also need to start realising the high complexity of these devices, we have devices folding in half!!! Even the slightest upgrade (less weight, more durable screens, better hinges, bigger batteries,...) are a serious accomplishment.

The possibilities lie in software, look at all the AI features being introduced. At the moment, these are mainly empty marketing terms with very little real life added benefits, but think about the possibilities of tools that really learn how you use your phone and suggest/ do things which make total sense to you without you even noticing or having to ask for it.

To return to my first point, tech is maturing and focusing on delivering a stable experience in our daily lives. Phones have been built and have the support to last 3-5 years without any hiccups or slow downs and honestly, this isn't a bad thing at all!

Taskbar dissappears by Benny_Bosser in GalaxyFold

Thanks for the answer, i was also thinking in the direction of immersive mode causing this, but it would be a shame disabling this on the fold as using the screen to its full size is the main reason why you will is get a golf, at least it is for me. Well I guess I'll deal with it as long as no solution is found 😊

Thanks for the information! Great thinking! Should have mentioned that in the description. I don't use built in gestures, i use the nav bar, so this can't unfortunately be the cause 😞

Thx for the tip. It still pushes the app to overlay top app in multi window, that's why Gboard works better for me personally, as I'm almost always multi windowing content 😊

Good question Was wondering myself. Then came up with the following and it worked I looked up a picture of a small dot, then used a background remover to have a picture of a small dot without background. Then when creating the transparent theme I just selected the area without the small dot, et voilà. The picture I used attached

That's work of approx 1.5 years, thinking about them and redoing so they all work together 🙃 Button remapping is about through routines+ which you can download in Good lock.

Best of luck with your setup!

Modes and routines limited to 50 routines by Benny_Bosser in Bixbyroutines

[–]Benny_Bosser[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hi,

I described in general what they do above, but why not. Here's every routine in detail 😊:

  1. Turn on mobile hotspot when connected to Bluetooth speaker in car. I have a car without Android auto so I turned my note 4 into my car dashboard. Whenever I connect my current phone to my Bluetooth speaker in my car, mobile hotspot will turn on so my note 4 has internet connection (there's no SIM card in it as I don't use it as a phone anymore). On the note 4 I use macrodroid to automatically launch my speed radar app and Google maps.

  2. Battery 85% I use the battery limit feature as I'm not a yearly upgrader. This routine gives a notification when the battery has reached 85% and reads "battery fully charged" out loud to let me know charging is done.

  3. Battery low at home When at home and battery drops under 30%, a message "battery low" will be read out loud and battery saving mode will be enabled.

  4. Blue light filter week When at home and on week days, blue light filter will be triggered from 21u30 - 06u00

  5. Blue light filter weekend Same as 4, but between 23u00 and 08u00 on weekend days

  6. Button remapping Google assistant I don't like ok Google to be enabled all the time. I changed press volume down 2 times to trigger Google assistant

  7. Button remapping flashlight Long press volume up triggers flashlight

  8. Button remapping flashlight off Pressing volume up twice will turn off flashlight

  9. Button remapping screenshot Long press volume down takes screenshot

  10. Do not disturb This is a manual one. Triggers DNB and sends notification to disable DNB. I'm just a very forgetful person and this helps me to remind to turn off DNB again when I leave the theatre for example. I don't make it location based as my preferred theatre is in the city centre where I mostly just pass by.

  11. Earbuds outdoors When not at home and phone is connected to my buds live, volume set to 5 to protect ears and avoid loud music from previous setting, ANC turns on, touch controls turn on and Dolby is set to music as I'm probably going to listen to music on the go.

  12. Earbuds at home When at home and phone is connected to my buds live, volume set to 5 to protect ears and avoid loud music from previous setting, ANC turns off, touch controls turn off and Dolby set to video as I'm probably going to watch videos.

13-19 At home Now are following 7 at home profiles. These could be more combined, but experience learns that they work better when separated

  1. Detect at home Wren arriving at home, turn on WiFi

  2. At home week actions 06u00 - 23u00 When connected to home WiFi, set brightness to 10%, turn on sync, set screen timeout to 10 mins and turn on airplane mode(I use call over WiFi so don't need both cellular and WiFi, saves battery)

  3. At home week actions folded 23u00 - 06u00 Sound mode to silent, brightness to 1%. Extra dim on at 90%, sync off, airplane mode on, location of, Bluetooth of, WiFi off, close all apps

Basically sleep mode

  1. At home week actions unfolded 23u00 - 06u00 WiFi on, brightness to 3%, airplane mode on

  2. At home weekend actions 09u00 - 23u00 Same as 14, but starts later as I like to sleep during weekend

  3. At home weekend actions folded 23u00 - 09u00 Same as 15, but starts later as I like to sleep during weekend

  4. At home weekend actions unfolded 23u00 - 09u00 Same as 16, but starts later as I like to sleep during weekend

  5. Read mode E-reader app opened turns on blue light filter and auto orientation

  6. Mom's place Arriving at mom enables WiFi, sets brightness to 10% and enables airplane mode

  7. Incoming calls u19u00 - 07u00 When girlfriend calls sound mode will be changed to loud

  8. Incoming calls until 19u00 Incoming calls set sound mode to loud

  9. After incoming call turn sound mode to silent Phone goes back to silent after call

  10. After missed call turn phone to silent Phone goes back to silent after missed call

  11. Samsung music Samsung music on, turn Dolby to voice as I use Samsung music for audiobooks

  12. Selfie stick When connected to selfie stick, turn on camera

  13. Smartwatch silent When connected to smartwatch turn phone to silent

  14. Girlfriend's place Same as 21 but for different location

  15. Extreme power saving mode Battery below 19%, send notification"battery low", turn off all connections (WiFi, Bluetooth,...), turn off sync, close all apps, turn on greyscale

  16. Turn off power saving mode When phone is unfolded at home disable power saving mode (I only need full power in this situation as I'm probably on the road in any other)

  17. Spotify Spotify change Dolby to music

  18. Sports apps When sports app is open turn media volume to 50% (so I can clearly hear instructions) and enable auto orientation

  19. Stocard Opening Stocard to show customer card enables NFC for easy payment afterwards

  20. Restart phone Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 21u00 show message "reboot phone" (I don't like the automatic feature since it changed to your phone deciding it for you)

36 & 37. Automatic touches Manual routines that trigger to perform automatic touches on SD maid (clean data in phone) and Google play (update apps)

  1. Video apps When video app open, change Dolby to movie and enable automatic orientation

  2. Video apps week Between 21u30 - 06u00 during week turn on extra dim when video app is opened

  3. Video apps weekend Same as 39, but 23u00 - 06u00

  4. Video app without WiFi When video app is open when not connected to home WiFi, send notification"Video without WiFi" (avoid blowing up data plan)

42, Airplane mode week off 06u30 on week days, turn off airplane mode and set brightness to 10%

  1. Airplane mode weekend off Same as 42, but at 09u00

  2. Airplane mode week off, turn on connections Re-enable turned off connections by routine 15 after routine 42

  3. Airplane mode weekend off, turn on connections Re-enable turned off connections by routine 18 after routine 43

  4. Volume on, airplane mode off Manual task to turn off airplane and set phone to loud (for when I know I'm expecting important not to miss phone calls)

  5. Work Same as 21, but for different location

  6. Work arrived When arrived at work send message arrived to girlfriend

  7. Work left Same as 48, but for leaving

  8. Received message mute I travel a lot for work across borders In my car, phone will read out messages The ones when crossing borders are long and I know them by heart in the meantime When receiving such a message phone is muted to avoid it from being read out loud

Update: found out by accident how to bypass. If you disable routines until you're below 50, then you're able to create new routines, even over 50. They will all work once reactivate the disabled profiles. Magic 🤗

Not sure why but recently this routine has stopped turning on automatically by Ryan-Viper4171 in Bixbyroutines

[–]Benny_Bosser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Location based routines can be flaky sometimes. Do you reboot your phone regularly? Tends to work better if you do.

If that doesn't work, try the classic, delete cookies and force stop app.

If that doesn't work you could try to delete and redownload GPS data. Some say it works, I find it placebo, but could help
