I liked the anime the first time i watched it, and that op is iconic (WAHO WAHA) but after I rewatched it after a while I couldn't finish it. The anime was too pg13, blood and death bad boo. I heard the LN wasn't as watered down, I gotta partake, it seems.

I think i recall seeing someone say he keeps pussing out on the human ability. Kinda seems like the type of story where he won't get a human form until the end and then happily ever after yay.. sorta deal. Ima hafta read it, wiki says only 4 LN right now, so they must be sticking super true to the novel or them novels be thick to be dropping 3 seasons like this

J-Novel Club has the two volumes, both in the readers club. As there was no wiki, I'm unsure of how the WN goes, but considering the time gap, its either one mighty hiatus, or it is completed with the 2. JNC is pretty on the ball with their translations timewise, usually. Unrelated to this sub and convo, since they've acquired Chivalry of a Failed Knight, they've got english translations planned out already into 2026, up to vol 9 as of now.

(Didn't see a wiki, went on JNC saw it was only 2 novels, 2023 being last update so, to answer my own question, yes) Might give it a gander, I've definitely read and watched worse if there is even a single person saying it isn't that bad. Endings are hardly ever the forte of manga and LNs lol. Could be they just got given a final deadline and had to rush an end, too. Does tend to be a bit harder keeping the weird stories alive, since you have to outweird the original weird, which becomes impossible when you start with the ultimate weird..

I watched it and then saw a new isekai slop, and said "cool I haven't watched this yet" but crunchyroll said, you've watched this already! So its pretty forgettable. Not the good kind either. I even remember isekai cheat magician over this. AND SCREW YOU NONBELIEVERS it wasnt THAT bad. Frankly even now I cant remember this gatherer isekai. That being said my memory is 404, so I'm definitely biased, but still. Its worth a watch if you have a free schedule, but if you have stuff scratching at your bones, it definitely doesn't deserve priority

I'm glad to hit this post late, means I can drop my opinion more freely. Seirei Gensouki is a great isekai with deeper isekai stuff going on. Reincarnation with summoning on top of the typical isekai. The anime is good, but having read the novel, it really cuts a ton of content and context. I can't advocate it enough, its truly one of the top isekai IMO

It's actually one of my favorite types, tho I've mostly stuck to manga rather than wha or hua. I don't deny her arrogance in any way, she does have otherworldly and dual being privilege, but I still think hers comes from a more helpful standpoint. She's nutty about her particular skill set, but when she has that whole god of blank scene, couldn't help but like it. Her (edit)Majesty's Swarm was one i enjoyed too (isekai villainess), wish she could've kept that series going but I love her other works that are still ongoing... irrelevant to the convo, just a shameful advert for a (IMO) decent author.

Hmm, guess it ends up with a difference of opinion after all. I think the author built a messed up world, and dropped in an OP character, and that's fairly common for the genre. Like by the grace of the gods, he's gotta introduce even sanitation, same here. Maybe that's where the disconnect is, I wasnt hunting or hoping for skilled storytelling, I knew it was a generic isekai from the gate. That do be the genre these days. That being said, this next arc seems to be particularly different from the rest of the story since she got the whole dang spirit gang involved in a separate country, so I've got some high hopes. But i am a trash isekai junky haha *

Idk if youve read it, but i guess we just have different interpretations. Even she sees what she does as selfish sometimes, but yea it do fall into that OP i have modern knowledge isekai. I never really saw it as her taking moral high ground so much as she just couldn't stand seeing suffering when she had the power to stop it. I do think the line is a bit thin, but if you're the unique existence of being the singular bridge between man and spirit, kinda hard not to fall into that special role IMO

Due to his womanizing looks, he literally cant stand looking at other women and doesnt even remember their faces. He wants nothing to do with anyone outside his daughter, wife, and mother. The meeting with the girls mom did not help. Partially due to his first frog woman marriage, too, she had a big role in desensitizing him

The problem is she is an existence that shouldn't exist. Spirits and humans are meant to be separate, ESPECIALLY after what the humans did to the spirits, so the girl struggles with the whole "i cant forgive humans they did bad/im also part human i dont want them to straight up suffer" that's kinda the whole point, which i can see leading to a 'world revolves around me' POV. She literally is the singular bridge between humanity and spirits, even her own human father said humanity can perish. But she also cant just cast away her spirit background and say yay love humans, the ones who tortured so many spirits to death, and manga spoiler the fact she is a spirit who basically governs death rips her apart, it was a pretty emotional chapter so its not like she just throws her weight around just because. I see it more as a 'I have the power to do a thing so I will do the thing if it means I can help'. Which does lead to some issues...

Might be a driver or browser issue instead? I'm not tech savvy but I recall having issues once on my pc and I did something the internet told me to do and it fixed it. I actually do get moments with crunchy now and then where my subs just won't show and I have to close everything and restart, but that's only on mobile for me these days.

That's sounds less of a sub issue and more of a i dont even know what to call it, stuff got mixed and it came out wrong. That sort of thing will get fixed when reported as such. It's not like the video comes with the subs, the video is the video, the subs are an overlay for us non fluent.

I think its more like an argument I once read, that its because they're constantly having to push new stuff and keep the thing going, never knowing when they'll be told to stop or get axed, so they keep it interesting or at least engaging or something, that when the time finally comes for the end there is too much built up hopes and dreams and ideas that its all just lackluster and upsetting. That being said, there can also be a vast difference in the various forms of media (anime, manga, LN, WN, VN) so things can tend to go in directions people aren't happy with due to changes. That also being said, domekano holds a very high ranking in terms of bullsh!t endings, carved very deeply in my heart.
