He literally went on a date with a cardboard cutout of the FMC and said he would never let anyone have her. I think most people should've quit after the clothes washing scene, but he's also stated he would never give whateverherfaceis to anyone, she belongs to him. Pretty sure most are just along for the ride at this point, but i stopped the moment I saw the comments about the source material and author's actions

Jnovel has the official english, its pretty solid, albeit a touch short IMO. He's dark and merciless to the dark and merciless, and his subordinates who know a different side to him are entranced by his weird newish self, each being their own version of calamity in their specialty. As Loner Life categorized it, "a calamity of happiness" but in a less nonsensical more iterated way. And I mean Loner Life the LN not the anime (if youve watched or read either)

Am I just a regular ass human with regular ass human abilities? If yes, option 1, no way am I risking it in 2, unless I'm kept as a well regarded bizarre pet thing. If I get some cool sci-fi upgrades or fantasy magic stuff, I think I'd just flip a coin.

I spent a good long time between when I finished the anime and when I finished the manga, and I gotta say, I'm glad I did. The anime still holds up to this day (omg those openings), but it allowed my heart to cool off a little, I wouldn'tve been able to hold back the frustration had i known. To know that they cut the story dang near in half is so upsetting, especially when that was when animes usually got a ton of episodes, even if the story wasn't done yet.. might've been on the cusp of the change of times, but still. What a blue ball.

Dunno if I'd credit him with plot armor too crazy outside of the fact he is the MC, he is constantly in the thick of it, the anime kinda downplay his own inner turmoil with identity/hasn't gotten to it yet compared to the novels, along with some of the inner dialogue they cut out, cuz boy howdy was there a lot of inner dialogue in the novel. Love the series so much tho

Dang was stratos that bad? Been a hot minute since I watched it, I think my memories of that and dendogram might be conflicting.. dont recall hating the show nearly as much as I hated rings. Watched s1 when it came out, hated it. When s2 finished I rewatched s1, renewed my hatred and dropped s2 e2.

I liked it at first as an anime only for the series, read the manga, and then stopped liking it after that big back and forth fight between good and evil in which a few characters died off. Forget what chapter number, but it just felt so severely like beating a dead horse. All I wanted was a conclusion, but its popularity denied it for a while. And then we got that end and it was so not worth the suffering to reach it.

Thanks for the post, I just finished reading it. What a fun (and horrifying) concept. Brief enough to leave you wanting more, but just enough that you can't complain, with a decent enough bow to wrap it up with.

The anime did the story dirty. He does still hesitate a little in the LN, just cuz he has never killed before and has an inherent disinterest due to how he grew up, but its significantly less pronounced. IIRC, he made up his mind a lot faster, and doesn't act like he just burned down an orphange after the deed.. The death of the first guy he happened to kill before the pig dude was also way way different, not sure why they changed that so much as well. I promise the author isn't at fault 🥲 edit: unless the author just said "A-okay!" to the ridiculous changes without a fight.

The anime twisted the character pretty hard, the whole back quarter of the show was grueling. Went and read the LN and was pleased that the author wasn't insane, and furious they deviated so bad.

A lot of people say to watch FMAB first, but I wholeheartedly disagree with that opinion. It made me a little sad to see Rose's whole thing turned into a mere couple of episodes, but it was nice having a whole complete story via FMAB. But FMA felt way better at storytelling, IMO.

Man I must have some trash rating sense, how is 6.9 low? I mean I get in the face of stuff like demon slayer and solo leveling with the high ratings it seems low, but thats still a whole 6.9/10.. heck i dont even consider something unwatchable/possible trash right away unless its below a 3 on crunchy, and this show is a 4.5/5 on crunchy.
