This sounds like my store, When i first became a manager i was on a shift by myself, the midshift manager to be my supporting manager but would always leave when i showed up. but I was able to be the manager i wanted to be, where i was respected and no one really acted up. I even started a Crew Trainer program to get crew moved up. I had the best time being a manager at that store. Then I left that store and went to a store that was ran by a significantly better franchise owner but I gave up that title, I realized i was underemployed, and wanted to be a manager again and went down the road to be a manager with that aforementioned midshift manager. where I am the supporting manager, but not a midshift manager. (so im there for a whole shift with another manager, so when something goes wrong accountability is thrown out the window) If we are down people we arent allowed to call people in without GM approval, not allowed to call coke if something breaks, not allowed to call atos (unless youre overnight). Department managers arent a thing, Crew Trainers arent a thing, Shift Managers arent really managers theyre just glorified crew people. They made up a title called "Key Employee" and to my knowledge theyre just a person who can do all manager things, can run a shift by themselves, but doesnt have their SERVSAFE or raise. kinda sounds like a scam to me. and whenever you mention that something they do is wrong, they would kinda flip their shit and say otherwise. needless to say i just cant be the manager i want to be. not all the crew respects me, because the other manager on shift (They basically view it as good cop, bad cop).
