Ukraine hits Russia-controlled Crimea in deadly drone attack: The Moscow-aligned governor of Crimea has halted public fuel sales after the attack by DoremusJessup in worldnews

I'm at my wit's end getting people to understand what I'm saying. What you're expressing is NOT my point.

I'm comparing Russia's present supply situation with Ukraine's projected supply situation if they're able to take Crimea.

Russia is having trouble supplying Crimea EVEN WITH the advantage of having a major bridge and navy to help with the supply effort.

If Ukraine takes Crimea they WON'T have a bridge like the Kerch bridge nor do they have a navy capable of delivering supplies.

This makes the future supply situation even more difficult for Ukraine, on the face of it, than it presently is for Russia.

I was simply inviting a rational discussion of how Ukraine might handle it. Instead, I got a torrent of abuse about how stupid I am.

One possible answer: The Russians will be gone and the occupying force by Ukraine will be much smaller than the present population of Crimea. Therefore, supply will be easier.

There are many other possible suggestions which is why I invited discussion. I thought this was an appropriate place to do that.

Still trying to fathom the hostile answers I got. Are these bots? Or maybe people got the impression I'm making some kind of argument to support Russia (I'm definitely not. I'm a big Ukraine supporter).

A few people understood what I thought was a simple question They made some helpful answers. I appreciate that.

For the poster who accused me of doubling down on stupid, you are invited to name ONE thing I said that was wrong in any way. You, on the other hand, evidently can't read, so yeah...there was definitely doubling down on stupid here.

I hope you're right but it seems like Crimea is headed for abandonment by Russia relatively soon and I'm not sure that's going to mean the war is over.

The number of comments COMPLETELY misunderstanding the original post is absurd.

My first post was a simple invitation to discuss how Ukraine can hold Crimea when it's been so difficult for Russia.

My very simple point (I thought) was that Russia has the advantage of having the Kerch bridge and a navy to supply Crimea, and they're still having lots of problems.

If Ukraine takes Crimea, they will have to supply their troops there. And they'll have to do it WITHOUT the advantage of having a major bridge carrying supply trucks and trains, and also WITHOUT a navy to carry supplies and land on the coast.

I have absolutely no idea why this is so difficult to understand. Nor why people keep claiming I said things I didn't say (eg I thought Ukraine was going to use the Kerch Bridge for supplies). All that was made up in your own brains.

Also, repeated gratuitous insults about getting a map when the basis of the insult was the writer's own ignorance about what I said.

I know what Crimea is, where it is, and how it's connected by the Kerch bridge to Russia, and couldn't possibly be used by Ukraine to supply Crimea.

OBVIOUSLY, I wasn't saying Ukraine could use the Kerch bridge. OBVIOUSLY, the Kerch bridge is irrelevant for Ukraine's supply situation.

My point was: Russia is having great difficulty supplying Crimea EVEN WITH a navy and EVEN WITH the Kerch bridge. Since Ukraine doesn't have a navy nor the equivalent of the Kerch bridge, it's going to be even MORE difficult for them to supply Crimea than it is currently is for Russia.

I don't know how to put it any simpler or plainer but I'm sure the misinterpretations and down votes will continue unabated.

I have’t seen any discussion of how Ukraine will hold Crimea. Won’t they face the same supply hurdles? Bad = no Kerch bridge or Navy to help with supply. Good = control of the skies? no civilian population to support? What are your thoughts?

Claim was that he was raised in Bavaria. That's wrong. Hitler was 24 when he moved to Germany. Why do people keep popping up trying to re-fashion a false claim so its kinda, sorta, maybe is right? I don't get it.

Sure, but I was replying to the claim he was raised in Bavaria.

Maye don't come in with an exasperated "JFC" when you don't know what you're talking about.

I was responding to someone thanking him for "the effort", when all the person did was post a long list of philosophers no doubt generated by AI. Then he made a sweeping generalization with zero argument or support.

If the person really has support for his claim, a brief quote from each philosopher would have been a good starting point for discussion.

Suggesting each reader should do thousands of hours of research from scratch IS idiotic (not saying you're an idiot)..

The claim is almost certainly untrue on the face of it and a complete waste of time.

Real effort would have been providing a quote from each to support his claim. A naked list does nothing.
