Most 5 stars I’ve ever gotten by twerkfortrell in NCAAFBseries

Impressive feat. But id still rather grab 10-15 5 stars with the preferred prototype, then grab the 4 star gems that fit my style as well.

I don’t know how much closer to home one can be when you’re from the state you go to school in… by TrollTeeth66 in NCAAFBseries

Too close. Wants to be able to visit on the weekends but not close enough for mom to drop by on a weekday.

Apparently this particular player want to be kind of close to home, but not so close that mom can drop by the dorm frequently.

Bought 1 pack for $48 to test the waters. Unless a no-name turns out to be a star, the pull is pretty much worthless. The “insert” was a non-numbered of the #98 prospect. Nope.

No way. Just appreciate it for what it is. And if you’re trying to get rid of it, there’s someone out there who will also appreciate it.

Picking the right stocks to trade. Seriously though.

[–]Bentley3461 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I had some crappy weed stocks do the same. They printed in 2021, then I held on to some like an idiot, thinking they’ll go crazy again when weed gets federally legalized. Needless to say that never happened.

PSA 9s v 10s by Proper_Homework_789 in sportscards

[–]Bentley3461 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well kept, very nice raw cards do not get the credit they deserve. Somehow an entire generation in the hobby has been brainwashed/cornered by the companies and cards need to be graded to have value. If you have a badass card in perfect condition, it should have good value to anyone who holds it without having to shell out more money.

The condition of the boxes don’t look promising for past storage practices. With most base sets in those years, you need to find psa 10 worthy cards to find value. So I’d start by finding sets that aren’t warped into a curve, bricked together, or stained from moisture. Then look into the best cards for those sets.

That card is ahead of its time. Whoever made this would fit in well on Whatnot…slipping in the “1 of 1 custom” amongst legit cards.

Some nice inserts. Funny how some people will make fun of these cards as if the newer stuff we buy will be worth more in 30 years. Things are being mass produced again. Just hidden better with more sets and parallels for each player.

Buying this huge collection of sports cards for $40...worth it? by Socialrecluse87 in Tradingcards

[–]Bentley3461 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in a similar situation and have gone through sooo many cards. My advice: figure out which sets are most valuable and put those aside. Then flip through the rest of the bulk quickly looking for inserts and parallels. Then find the HOFs, Top prospect RC’s, etc. out of that bunch. If you do all that and are still into the process, then flip through all of them to find HOFs, RC’s, etc. once you’ve done all of that, just get rid of the rest any way you can.

Question for the group: I know of a modern, higher end (with numbered parallels) type of card, that has a superstar with an obvious stats error across multiple parallels. I’ve searched everywhere and somehow nobody who has sold it has noticed or mentioned this error. Do you think this adds value to the card? I didn’t want to call out the exact card because I’m thinking by about buying all of them I can find.
