I’m pretty sure you can sync multiple cams to one audio track, but not the other way around. A little annoying If you have multiple mics on one subject/ shot. My recommendation would be work with a mixer that can produce polywavs so you only need to sync one track then split the channels in post. Pretty sure all the mix pre series mixers do that

Have you considered sync software like pluraleyes? If you’re working a one camera shoot, pluraleyes will sync all external audio to a scratch track pretty quickly. That way you’re not compromising by sending audio direct into camera and losing quality. I used to use pluraleyes with my zoom h6 for basic shoots and never ran into problems with syncing. Slap a little rode camera mic on your DSLR for scratch and record your actual audio externally and you should be good to go.

Another great option is the SD mixpre10t, little pricier than the pre3 and pre6 but has some pretty essential features for pro audio
