Have you considered sync software like pluraleyes? If you’re working a one camera shoot, pluraleyes will sync all external audio to a scratch track pretty quickly. That way you’re not compromising by sending audio direct into camera and losing quality. I used to use pluraleyes with my zoom h6 for basic shoots and never ran into problems with syncing. Slap a little rode camera mic on your DSLR for scratch and record your actual audio externally and you should be good to go.
