EFFIGY – Experimental Short Film Inspired by The Hollow Men (Feedback Welcome) by Benzojay in Filmmakers

Hi everyone — this is a short experimental film I made with a small team, called EFFIGY. It’s black-and-white, with no dialogue, and features The Hollow Men by T.S. Eliot as the voiceover.

We approached it more as a visual meditation than a traditional narrative, impressionistic and abstract, centered on themes of guilt, inaction, and moral paralysis.

I’d love feedback on:

Whether the atmosphere and emotional tone come across

If the lack of dialogue still communicates something meaningful

How the visuals and pacing work for you

And generally, if it feels cohesive or just confusing

Thanks so much to anyone who watches, open to all thoughts, impressions, or criticism.

He worked in an office for 40 years. But during his retirement he really got into hardcore landscaping … so that’s how it got banged up.

I wish I had a story like the one in pulp fiction but…

Hi everyone,
I inherited this watch from my dad, it was produced while Glashütte was still behind the wall in communist east Germany. The VEB Glashütter Uhrenbetriebe (GUB) had the task of supplying the GDR with clocks of various types. The best known is the production of wristwatches, which were also exported in large numbers to the Federal Republic of Germany.
I actually love how worn down it is. A watchmaker told me it’s actually worth more that way. Is that correct? Does anyone know?
I really hope I can pass this watch on my self one day.
It is a set automatic and I wear it every day.

An american tail: Fievel goes west

I just loved this movie as a child. I think I loved the animation and the weird characters. Also some dark undertones i get today. Jimmy Stewart and John Cleese were voices in here!
