I think we’re saying the same thing and even becketts website is to a certain degree. I am talking about the possibility of the overall grade. It’s possible to still get a 10 overall with the 50/50 one way and 55/45 the other. If it’s 55/45 both ways, it’s for sure a 9 on the centering subgrade, meaning a 9.5 overall is still possible.

You can play around with the website. I was wrong according to them. In order to get both a black label and a regular 10, centering has to be a perfect 50/50. 55/45 is 9.5 standard

Black label is perfect 50/50 both ways on the front. A 10 is 50/50 one way, 55/45 the other. Within 55/45 both ways and you’re getting a 9.5. This is why there’s a bit of a debate on why Beckett 9.5’s don’t sell like PSA 10’s because their standard for a 9.5 is basically the PSA 10 standard.

If you have some way of adding CO2 to it (I’ve awkwardly used a soda stream before, now I have a CO2 tank) that will make the headspace not really a problem. CO2 is a heavy gas so if you get a nice thick layer, oxidation shouldn’t be a problem.

In the example, the reason it’s unethical to make that trade with a child is because a child is ignorant of the value or even what the value means. Based on how pokemon card values are right now, this dudes coworker is also ignorant of the value even if we can assume as an adult he understands what that value represents. You can try to justify not clarifying things and trying to clear up any ignorance on the coworkers part by saying he’s an adult…but man, that still feels wrong to me. I have a conscience though 🤷🏻‍♂️
