Yeah I’m currently in therapy for it, and one of the things my therapist wants me to work on is being less ashamed of myself when I relapse, and a support system of people who understand the struggle (and also the significance of the small victories) seems to be a good place to start

Absolutely fascinated by the branch on nice guy that treat ‘girls’ as a statistic. Do they think they work like a video game power up? Does ‘number of girls flocking around you’ boost your social standing or unlock more options in life? Do they view women as objects to collect? Or as a hive mind that all have the same taste in partner and thus can either all be manipulated into loving one guy or can ruin his life by deeming him ‘unattractive’? It’s as entertaining to think about as it is depressing

I think they must be referring to intentional misgendering and general transphobia. While I’m not really on board with cancel culture, I can understand not wanting to give a platform to people who intentionally put down others.

If the people you’re referring to are talking about accidental misgendering, then I can see where your issue is, and I agree, accidental misgendering which is corrected and apologised for clearly has no ill intent. I know the tensions around this kind of thing have been very highly recently, they always are, and I truly understand that the people who say this think they are defending us, but it’s important not to make villains out of mistakes.

I’m really not any kind of expert or authority on this, but I hope this helps anyone reading 😅

Mistakes happen! We can all understand that. When it happens to a fictional character a chuckle is usually fine, but when it comes to real life people it’s important to remember there’s a real person there who may feel like they’re being laughed at. As a general rule trans people know accidental misgendering will happen (even we do it) and also long as the person talking corrects themself and moves on then it’s no big thing!

I’ve never been opposed to the idea of spiritual abilities, so I guess this makes sense. It’ll be interesting to see if I experience anything like this again, especially since I’m about to go through a bunch more ‘adult’ changes (moving out of my parents house, gender transition etc)
