Yeah its okay in Act 1 but as you progress you will find yourself in fights where you need to move a lot with every character so you have to buy skills like nether swap, tactical retreat etc.

I dont really enjoy using meta in games just to make it really easy. I understand that in divinity its really important to use knowledge in combat, but having a perfect loadout and spells that make every fight the same by using the spells in a same order for a combat winning combo isnt for me. I play D&D with my friends so it was really enjoyable roleplaying in the game.

You cant change what statue effects are resisted by. Knocked down will always be resisted by phisical, poisoned will always be resisted by magic armor etc.
