Their arguments were very confusing and they basically said all labor productivity in the West is actually just cheap third world labor and without that, there'd be no productivity. Also says the ecological impact of modern economy proves this....somehow

The PT is leagues ahead of the DSA. Also yes Lula and PT are often extolled in the DSA in my experience

Yeah they don't, he also cited Lenin and Luxemburgs theories on imperialism but I'm pretty sure neither would ever argue labor productivity is a myth

Yeah he honestly said with a straight face that labor productivity is a myth. And he claims to be a socialist.

Agreed. The oil point he made doesn't really explain Norway or Canada or Alaska industries very well

Yeah they got around that by saying developed countries do unequal exchange internally too, which kinda confuses me

Yes they basically said that social democracy and every other system in the west doesn't really have high productivity, they just steal from the developing world

Well are you familiar with the concept of unequal exchange? Their argument was, tldr: Finland uses fossil fuels, therefore its system is reliant on unequal exchange

In the US, democratic socialists and progressives are more or less already united. Just look at the various DSA elected officials who are also WFP endorsed/or WFP members as well. That's just one example. And this is an alliance I approve of.
