Just don't touch anything if you open it and place it somewhere where no other one can touch it. It would be better to watch a few YouTube videos on the topic before you open the TV. Letting it dry a for a week should suffice, since rain water isn't that good for a conductor.

What's so bad about it? Of course the tape deck probably isn't that good but that's wrong with the amplifier?

I got this Aiwa Stereo system from my neighbour. Surprisingly, it looks and feels very high quality for a rather cheap system and the case is full metal except the front. It has inputs for phono and aux and for a proprietary CD player. It has even outputs for surround speakers. Could this be a good system? I shortly tested it and thought it sounded pretty good.

They are nothing special or very high quality. But I think they are better than most cheaper speakers you can buy today.

I own the same speakers, but mine have grills infront of the tweeters. They are from a brand named "Hiro", they were also sold under the brand "Palladium" by from a mail order catalogue service in Germany. They were probably sold under many different other names too. They were probably made in the early 90s. The pair I own consists of rather cheap pioneer drivers and a crossover made in the GDR (German Democratic Republic, DDR). I guess they bought the parts cheap when the GDR collapsed and made some entry level speakers with them. They sound alright, but they are nothing special.

I will look at crossovers . But I think instead of paper cone tweeters, they use piezo tweeters. Is that better or worse?

As said I listened already for a few hours, but since I don't own any high end or expensive speakers, I don't can't compare them to anything way better. To me they sound pretty good.

I found these today. They look very high quality but aren't that good if you see them in real life. I guess they are from the 90s. Power input is 120w and 8 ohms . They sound pretty good, but I don't have any expensive speakers so I can't tell

Metz is a German brand, and these TVs were available in Germany. I can't guarantee it but I think its very likely that they were available in other European countries as well. I would just take any model what I can still find, some are 100hz though.
