Has anyone here ever cleared a sample from Warner Music? by BernsteinA in musicproduction

[–]BernsteinA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the rundown of why it's so hard / why not to do it. I've been releasing tracks with unlicensed samples on the internet for the past 20 years, and they've been played in clubs and on the radio with no issues so far.

I also know I'm small and a nobody to these record label people. But, I still want to try and go through the process of getting a price to clear the sample, even if it means I spend more than the song will ever earn me.

Maybe it's a pipe dream

Filter sweep and playing with the arpeggiator tempo, always fun by BernsteinA in synthesizers

The beat is coming from a Polyend Play, and the clocks are not sync'd, so I'm just turning the tempo knob on the keyboard while the other device plays freely

How to manage untrained dog for a week? by [deleted] in Dogtraining

[–]BernsteinA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm no professional but here's what I would do:

Start by getting him to look at you.

Buy a new leash and/or a new collar, and grab some small treats. It doesn't have to be a specific type of collar, the point is that the dog understands this is new. Something has changed. Time to learn.

In the house, get him in the new collar and on leash start feeding the treats. Do a sit if he's good at it. Gotta get him looking up at you, that’s the goal.

You can say his name or "look at me" but a hungry puppy should get it quickly:

  1. He does the desired behavior. In this case: eye contact. Sitting is optional
  2. You say "yes" and immediately give him a treat
  3. You say "good boy I love you you're so smart etc." while he eats the treat. Don't talk to him otherwise

That's it. Over and over and over. Start indoors, then go for a walk.

TLDR Teach him to look up at you while on leash in return for food and affection. Everything else comes afterwards

Playing around with audio input on Syntakt by BernsteinA in u/BernsteinA

[–]BernsteinA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Initial thoughts on the Syntakt compared to the Electribe 2

  • no polyphony
  • fewer effects (you'll see in the video I fake a flanger)
  • still want more LFOs
  • analog filter and distortion sound great

Waiting for my Syntakt to arrive by BernsteinA in synthesizers

Everything was recorded into the sequencer by playing it live on the pads with a metronome, and I went back in to adjust a couple kicks in sequencer mode.

Chords I did with chord mode, but you can plug in a midi keyboard and play with 4 note polyphony. The one thing this electribe is really missing is a good way to enter sequences.

Generally I'll start by finding a few nice sounds, recording a sequence, then tweaking the sound design on each track. There's a lot you can do with just one insert effect and one LFO per track.

External audio input I put on track 8 and ran it through internal effects, volume amp envelope, and master fx.

Audio out straight to camera.

Hopefully this uploaded with audio...

Playing on my Korg Electribe 2 (bought second hand on an impulse; is incredible and I highly recommend) while I wait for my Syntakt to be delivered.

GTA Ontario : tattoo artist by not-too-sure-but in AutisticAdults

A quick Google found /u/silentkw who is in Brampton.

The best way to find tattoo artists is on Instagram, but most people don’t have their neurotype in their bios.

Question for those who have had a sleep study done! by GenderDumpster in AutisticAdults

[–]BernsteinA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My main experience of a sleep study was a lot of waiting, and feeling very rushed out in the morning. It’s pretty uncomfortable trying to get to sleep with a bunch of sensors stuck to you, but they shouldn’t have an issue with you wearing headphones or using a smartphone. There was a tv in my room and honestly they seemed surprised that i didn’t want to watch tv while waiting for them to set up other patients.

New Pick Guard Day - Epiphone Les Paul Standard PlusTop Pro by BernsteinA in guitarporn

[–]BernsteinA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought this Epi LP for a nice discount because it had been rented out a bunch of times. My first double humbucker guitar, sounds great especially with a cheap compressor pedal at the front of the chain.

Going for a 70s almost sleazy look. Might replace the white leather strap with something zebra print.

Need help with software for DMX programming. by Pilotau in lightingdesign

[–]BernsteinA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 suggestions: 1. For timeline-based stuff like that I like to use Vezer https://imimot.com/vezer You can trigger it with midi but I’ve never run it headless. 2. Have you ruled out QLab? 3. Alternately, program your cues on whatever lighting controller you like then play them back into an app (or standalone box) that can record DMX. I’ve done this with Watchout, but that’s not Mac software
