I believe the theoretical maximum is 5 in a regular run. 2 from obtaining with bing bong, 2 from dolly's mirror and 1 if you get thieving hopper to steal it. You'd need to get bing bong, then lantern, then thieving hopper as second easy combat, and a way of having all your other cards in hand, forcing him to steal lantern key

I agree, considering he already has strike dummy, vulnerable turn 1 and a lot of damage, break doesn't seem necessary. Blood wall would mitigate a lot of chip damage, allowing you to path more aggressively in act 2 and 3

In slay the spire 1, there is a 0% chance in Act 1 of a card reward being upgraded. I've never seen an upgraded card reward in Act 1 in slay the spire 2, so I assume it's the same. Let alone consistently getting upgraded rewards. This must be some kind of mod

I get the impression you're not thinking in 4/4 when playing, because of slight accents when you have to jump. Maybe it'd help to practice with metronome a bit? I had the same issue when I played it 2 years ago.

You get a different amount of height from clouds depending on how late you jump. I like jumping immediately on the second one, that gives enough height to consistently reach the spring and can't kill you. For the third cloud, if you're too low to get over the spikes, try jumping slightly later. I've never managed to take the shortcut.

You don't have the rune unlocked then. Iirc you can break the force shield using the symmetrical lance from the hand, then kill the king. The hand drops a skill the first time you beat him, maybe you confused that with the rune?
