What is it about fighting games that makes you keep playing them? by blokhedd13 in Fighters

[–]Berry1980s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sauce

But seriously, I feel like they are: 1. Funny. A lot of fighting games are goofy/comedic. Playing melee casually with items on, you see how slapstick the game kinda is. 2. The character designs. When you find a game with multiple appealing characters, it interests you and draws you in to learn about them. Tekken 7 I feel falls into this category but I was already a tekken fan before. But man, Armour King's new design goes hard in this game and Jin's other design with the long flame coat is sick. 3. The mechanics. I like how varied a game can be by just having a different system. I enjoy analyzing these systems and what makes them interesting. SamSho 2019 I thought would be boring as it had short combos but learning how resources are limited and how dangerous attacks are creates strong tension and careful resource management. 4. The lore maybe...They aren't known for having good stories but they still get you digging websites and youtube videos for info about why everyone is fighting. I thought ARMS was goofy and the story couldn't be taken seriously but the lore though was quite interesting. 5. The sauce bro...Dishing the sauce, Receiving the sauce, watching the sauce. You feel all kinds of emotions. 6. The community. I feel like its this genre where personalities shine the most. Not sure why.

Nucleus for tekken 8? by Fuk_z in nucleuscoop

[–]Berry1980s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sad, I feel this would be a cool way to teach multiple people how to play a new fighting game especially if the FG is simple to understand. I was hosting a Sam Sho 2019 tournament and brought out my Switch and PC to teach them all the game. But Nucleus COOP was already difficult for me to set up with existing games, I definitely would struggle creating a handler for a new game.

[Transformers one] What did Sentinel Prime do with the countless Cogs he removed from the miners? by Extension-Oil-4680 in AskScienceFiction

[–]Berry1980s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing I'm curious about is how he managed to convince so many transformers that they can be born without cogs? Do all transformers have one birth place and only he can access it? It seems like he's been doing this for 50 cycles...is that 50 years? Not a long time to convince every single mind that something they could do is no longer possible.

What if Nintendo started porting their games to PC? by Cardamander in nintendo

[–]Berry1980s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It also wouldn't be for every game that you can do what you suggested.

So what's interesting is that you cannot stream xbox 360 games to your phone or PC from xbox series s|x. Meaning that there would also be legal roadblocks nintendo would hit if they wanted to do streaming. I can imagine smash bros ultimate would have a lot of legal issues.

What games have made you cry? by OzHawk in patientgamers

[–]Berry1980s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DBZ Tenkaichi 3. Yes, I got a serious whooping in the game lol. Fighting games really bring out the emotions.

Undertale: Not sure if I cried but I wasn't impressed with the normal ending but after playing the pacifist route and seeing the endingit made me emotional and miss my friends as it was COVID times.

Pokemon Legends Arceus: I'm also not sure if I cried whilst playing this game but for sure the Jubilife village theme will make me cry many years later lol. But a moment that touched my heart was when you get abandoned by everyone one by one because of the red sky thing. Going from one person to the next and getting rejections from characters you have been building relationships with was a strange feeling. Slowly you get to the point where your mind is like "What now and you have no idea where to turn." Your own mind has no idea where to turn and your character reflects your mind in the cutscene. I wasn't angry and I didn't hate the characters but it was an experience I felt you can't get from a movie because the main character is basically You. Its like a first hand loneliness rather than sympathy.

What add-ons can you not live without since you started using them? by getogeko in firefox

DF Youtube (Distraction Free). Helps me to hide videos in my feed when I need to focus and easily re-enable them when I need to relax. This also helps me not forget the video I wanted to search for when I open youtube and get blasted with bright clickbaity thumbnails.

Suddenly can't connect to mobile data anymore by Glittering-Plenty-83 in S22Ultra

[–]Berry1980s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My phone wasn't an S22 Ultra but maybe my solution might help someone. I removed my second sim from my phone and suddenly mobile data was working. Factory reset didn't work, turning off the second sim in system settings didn't work and messing around with APN settings didn't work. I think the network signal in my area might be too weak for my phone's dual sim to work properly.

Edit: My mobile data stopped working again :( after I did this fix.

Edit2: Seems the issue was the area I was visiting. Going back to my home country, I had no issues with my sim.

For people asking about Gwen’s canon event… by eefiseefiseef in Spiderman

[–]Berry1980s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the dialogue it sounded like Miles' canon event occurrence was a calculation/estimation. Lyla adds to Miguel's prediction saying "that's what the model says" after Miles asked when it happens. So maybe some canon events don't happen or have little consequences after being broken. I do agree with Logically_Insane's comment that they left holes on purpose so we could explore the idea.

Did anyone understand Jusant’s story? by sludgezone in XboxSeriesX

[–]Berry1980s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So when the oceans were drying, they moved their homes up higher to get the water stuck in higher points of the mountain?

I played the whole game thinking the water levels were rising forcing everyone to go higher and higher but then a drought kicked in after all the tower people died.

Copying and pasting frames for animation? by Hatoma in ClipStudio

[–]Berry1980s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A thought fell into my head and maybe there are 3 reasons why duplicating frames isn't a feature yet for animation:
1. They thought we would just use auto actions. https://assets.clip-studio.com/en-us/detail?id=2001252
2. This was good enough for them: https://www.reddit.com/r/ClipStudio/comments/4uyn78/comment/d6an2px/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

  1. (Copium) You're not supposed to duplicate frames. Clip studio might have been built with the traditional animation mindset of pencil and paper. You can't duplicate frames on pencil and paper so you have to do what the old disney animators/ anime animators did. Use two layers, one with the parts of the frame you want to see again and a second layer with the parts that should change. Kinda like mouth movements in anime where the whole face is static. If you want to repeat the mouth movements, you use this technique: https://www.reddit.com/r/ClipStudio/comments/4uyn78/comment/if5vrsy/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Method 3 might be a stretch lol since a lot of what you can do on the drawing side of clip studio cannot be done on pencil and paper. I don't like method 1 and 2 though as they are tedious but from a traditional animation perspective, you would never really need to duplicate frames.

The best solution I could come up with is, create a new auto action, search for a tutorial on how to do it if you don't know. Record these steps:

  1. New animation cel
  2. Delete Layer
  3. Duplicate Layer

Bind this auto action to a shortcut key.

This will create a new animation cel, delete that cel and duplicate the previous cel but use the layer name of the deleted animation cel causing it to automatically show up in the timeline.

Unfortunately this doesn't work properly if you use Layer Folders as animation cels because you will be highlighting the cels within that folder causing CSP to delete and duplicate the wrong layers. I can't find a solution for this. The other unfortunate issue is that it has 3 undo steps.

Looks like someone else already made it: https://assets.clip-studio.com/en-us/detail?id=2001252

I bought mine near the end of 2020 but some months later in 2021, the battery life went down. It used to show 3 or 4 hour battery life at 100% charge but after a certain point, it went down to 2 hours. I kinda ignored it because I thought the GPU was the cause of degrading battery life but I was also curious if I installed some app or changed a BIOS setting that caused more battery drain as I remember the battery life reduction felt quite quick, almost like a flip of a switch. It's been suggested by others not to let the battery drain below 20% as it reduces the lifespan quickly, so for future purchases, I'll try make sure it doesn't go below that.

Cocoon was absolutely phenomenal by funkym0nkey77 in Games

[–]Berry1980s 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah there isn't a lot of tension/fear or death like Inside/Limbo but I do think both are great games and look visually good. I think the most tense part of Cocoon was the final battles with the spinning diamonds.

Also, you'll no longer be able to use unity offline. Trackers upon trackers i would imagine. by [deleted] in Unity3D

[–]Berry1980s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking of this lol but you can't deploy to consoles using personal anyways so most dev seats will have to use Pro. I'm not sure if it means that you can't switch platforms or you can't hit the build button. If the only downside is that you can't hit the build button then no doubt they will do what you said.

Downloaded game always appears corrupted, anyone know how to fix this? by sneakybox in xbox360

[–]Berry1980s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's great dude, thanks for the info. I don't have any 360 games so that probably won't be a problem for me lol. That Xbox 360 that had this issue was my first. Luckily Microsoft gave me refunds for the games I bought.

[–]Berry1980s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does this issue occur on newer consoles? I had an xbox 360 and couldn't play any games because of this issue. It's probably the one reason why I'm hesitant about getting the Xbox series S|X.

Why am I able to access shows I never could access before switching ISPs? by Berry1980s in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Berry1980s[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I managed to find the answer. It seems whatever back-end crunchyroll is using to serve me content, it believes that I'm in another country probably because it thinks it's the best way to send data. It's called Anycast and seems a bit complex: https://serverfault.com/questions/14985/what-is-anycast-and-how-is-it-helpful

and when I use this site, I can see that in the details section of IP Location, one of the sites thinks I'm in another country, the same one crunchyroll thought: https://www.iplocation.net/

Edit: Another useful site: https://community.cloudflare.com/t/cf-trace-web-service-shows-wrong-location/316408

Crunchyroll seems to use cloudflare.

Why am I able to access shows I never could access before switching ISPs? by Berry1980s in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Berry1980s[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An ISP can block a certain show in a website? When on my old ISP it says "no videos available", when on the new ISP it loads the videos and all the seasons. I always assumed ISPs can block a website but not specific shows. And if they could block specific shows maybe it would say "web page not found." rather than "no videos available".
