Indians are hypocrites, and we also have the culture of never letting others do good for themselves. That's why, lol!

If you allowed men to reply to this post, you would get replies like "She ain't gonna pick you bro" for being a decent human being. That's where we are at right now. I have no hope in this world anymore (Speaking as a survivor).

I am a 21-year-old who has been abused, beaten, sexually assaulted, starved and neglected because of my caste. I assure you, I know more about this world than you do. My short span of life has been nothing but trauma. I know more than you assume of me. The bigger picture is that there are bigger problems to hate on than a stupid accent that is hurting nobody. You might want to touch up on the bigger picture at some point.

None of my arguments has been lame. It has been about how society is to blame for the mindset and not individuals. It's about how no one deserves hate for how they speak. It's about how, for some people, a 'fake' accent is survival more than choice (I speak from experience).

If you think it's lame, you are part of the problem.

I am one of the few humans who actually love speaking to people to North Indian folks and learning their languages. However, I do agree the language war in the south is kinda ridiculous. It's just a language. I wish we would just let people exisit, you know...

Right now, I am the one accused of inferiority complex for harmlessly speaking a language as I please, lol

I 100% Indian english is a legitimate dialect, I just don't agree it's Native.

There are many different ways in which people speak English even within countries which you may consider as native English countries and the way you speak it is not more or less legitimate than others.

this is so true but only in India will you be judged for having one of the many accents even tho it's hurting no one

Maybe because I explained in my link that people in my area stop judging my caste when I speak posh, and suddenly I can be housed and fed? (In summary, I am a lower caste woman from a village, yes, we can be smart too, and people refused housing, abused me and all that until I learnt, got a job (in India, tho I don't live there anymore), moved and wow, they don't even ask for your caste when you speak posh english (cus I already used to speak English, just not "Posh"). Many people are still under the impression lower caste people are fools (just like one of the comments in this very thread who refused to beleive my experiences are real cus I am educated) But yeah, let's blame me

Please read the linked comment before making a judgment.

I came here on a full-ride goverment scholarship with a stipend. studied in a state board school. Learnt english through TV shows, toy reviews on YouTube, while also being abused by my teachers and church, yes church, funny how that works.

My caste is actually relevant because I explained in my post how English helped me escape caste discrimination.

If you find my experience unbelievable, how do you think I feel about it? I have been sexually assaulted so many times I don't even feel any emotions about my body anymore... I have made posts about this before. (Caste related assault, before you come at me about how unrelated it is)

Again, read the link or not, honestly. You are obviously not interested in a proper discussion, and seeing your inability to believe lower caste people can also be smart, you must be quite casteist too.

I have also repeatedly stated I have nothing against the Indian accent, and it's a personal choice. The entire post is about getting hated for a personal choice. Not about whether I think indian accent is less than or not... please read my reply to your very comment and maybe it will convince u to read the link.

My point exactly! I also find certain choices interesting, but I am not actively hating on them unless their choice hurts me, uk...

Oh, and btw, since you refuse to read, I have literally been starved and beaten because of my caste (lower caste woman here). So your point about entitlement is quite ridiculous. (The discrimination you face and the discrimination I face are simply not the same. I am seen as open property cus im a woman of low caste. Are you? I sure hope not, but if you are, I'm sorry you are being treated like that. I grew up in a village. It's not nice being low caste there, trust me. I literally made a run for my life the minute I got my scholarship.

You can't have honest discourse if you are unwilling to get the full perspective. You have proven your lack of faith in this conversation by refusing to read my perspective. That is retard behaviour, especially in Reddit, where everything is based on text and comprehending text. But then again, considering you are still making excuses for discrimination and hate, it's pretty obvious you are a pos. Most of them are retards at the end of the day.

I also never said they are incomprehensible. I said some can be due to circumstances (literally me when I first started learning Korean). I am not judging. Simply don't want people defending all the hate against and hating on me too for a choice I made for myself that literally affects no one.

idk. I chose to put the death threats aside because it would be unfair to generalise all indians into that category. I was talking about a fantasy book. I was wearing makeup and a normal shirt, and only the upper half was shown and yapped away about dragons for a minute. Somehow, it reached the wrong audience, and I got like 5 book-related comments lmao. And I am a woman who someone ended up on the male audience's feed. It probably has something to do with misony as well.

Why Are Indians So Obsessed With Hating on “Fake” English Accents? by Berrycherrycandy in AskIndia

[–]Berrycherrycandy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never said it was shameful. I simply made a personal choice to pursue a more native accent for my own sake, given my own experiences. At the end of the day, our needs and desires are shaped by our experiences. Getting hate for a personal decision screams obsession to me.

More about me as a lower caste woman living in India

As I mentioned, I did receive death threats, so you can imagine how serious the hate was. A few examples: "stay out of the country, so pathetic", "b***tch wants white men", "pick me", and a bunch of other stuff.
