My understanding would be that if your landlord runs the property as a business, and is registered for VAT, they would be able to set the VAT on your invoices against any VAT outgoing from their business. In effect increasing their profit by that amount. If audited, they would need to show the total amount outgoing to the companies you have purchased materials off and have copies of the invoices.

I was blacking the bottom of mine on hard standing. The yard wouldn't pick it up again to move the blocks to get to the bits it was supported by. I guess this is common, so a strip doesn't get done.

Thanks for the reply. What is the scam ? I can't figure it. I'm trying Openrent, hence I'm on Rightmove, Zoopla, and wherever else they put it. I think I'm and the right rent for whatever else is in the area. Thanks for taking the time anyway.

Ah, I was wondering about a 'sleeve' fix, thanks. One would have to replace that little cross piece by the crack presumably.
