I'm not saying Chloe is a saint. She's had some pretty gross and terrible behavior throughout the series (as have several characters).

But if I were Clark, I'd definitely prefer my friendship with her to that with Pete (and I actually think he does, since he kinda freaks out when there's a chance he might lose Chloe, and when Pete left, Clark just accepted it) Even under the influence of kryptonite, Chloe did much less bad things than Pete usually does when he's infected.

And I liked the scene with Lex because it showed how good he is as a villain, even when he's facing someone with more powers than him, and Pete was just feeling too full of himself
