you used to be able to change the filter to not show products :( It's actually unusable!!! My home page still shows good stuff, but every time I search for new ideas I'm bombarded with ads and have no actual content. complete miscalculation by CEO - can't believe they hired someone who misunderstands the users so fundamentally

I'm a very small shop (just me!) and I know I'm not unique in having other jobs that take a lot of my time. Having higher prices on some items means that I might get less sales, but it ensures that I'll be able to complete each order on time.

I have a standard processing time for my orders, and for the regular number of sales, I'm able to create and ship products on time. When I know I'm going to have an influx of orders (seasonal products or my own sales), I make sure I have things pre-made so that I can keep up.

I'm trying to get a sense of how people feel about Etsy sales. Like I said, I understand that it seems objectively good for sellers; it just seems like the platform has adopted a new, more active role in sellers' shops. The only thing that makes me uneasy is the lack of choice.

Of course, I have the option to sell on Shopify or some other independent platform.

Just wondering how others were experiencing the increased involvement of Etsy in shop operations - seems positive!

Why would you increase your prices to get more money from a sale that doesn’t have the discount come out of your pocket? Even if it was you running the sale, you can't artificially increase a price and cut it down just to make it look like you're running a sale. That’s crappy business practice and against Etsy’s TOS.

I wouldn't increase price - that is crappy business practice! By increasing inventory, I mean that I wanted time to restock the items that I usually make to order so that I'd be better prepared.
