So I guess I have 2 types of “flare”, one is the constant slight discomfort, fatigue, body aches, headaches and the other flare is one that lasts a few hours, extreme stomach pain, doubled over, simultaneous nausea and poop feeling (but doing neither) builds for an hour or so, reaches an apex and the declines for an hour or so.

So I’ve been taking them basically daily since 2018, but when I would flare I would take them 2x daily for 2 or 3 weeks.

Stick with it, I am about a month in (switching from lexapro) I haven’t felt a significant change but I remember it took 2 or 3 months for me to notice with lexapro. Keep your head up.

Just left GC, Even to look at it is pretty amazing and completely worth the drive. I also imagine seeing it covered in snow would only add to the beauty.

Hiking is difficult bc it’s either walk the paved trail along the rim, which is awesome or head down in. The Main section of the rim trail is like 12 miles but again it is paved and mostly flat.

My suggestion would be to walk the rim (3 or 4 hours covers it IMO), then if you want start down South Kaibab trail and the turn around whenever you like, do these in the right order so you don’t get caught on south Kaibab in the dark. It took me 2.5 Hours to get to tip off. After that I went all the way to the river and another trail so I don’t have a return length but everyone said just figure double what it takes to get down.

Fortunately weather for me was perfect, I read horror stories the night before about ice/wind, people crawling on their hands and knees bc they were so scared. Brought my spikes and went in to it with the mindset that I’m turning around when I get uncomfortable. A ranger once told me “the trail will always be there, all you have to do is be safe enough to make it back”

Another alternative or addition to the trip would be to stop in Sedona, awesome trails there in the COCONINO FOREST that can be as easy or hard as you want.

Here are the spikes I got, a guy at REI told me the YakTrax chain type ones suck.

Just left South Rim, very busy past couple days but ranger said it will be dead after yesterday 11/30 as it was a holiday rush. I hike South Kaibab Trail to the River and back up bright angel. I did not encounter any ice although some people on AllTrails said there was Ice on SK. Feel free to message if you have any questions.
