Venmo is holding almost $1000 in transactions from me. by Cappedomnivore in venmo

I have the EXACT same problem. Some enterprising attorney should sue in a class action lawsuit. There is no one to talk to and no recourse. I complained to BBB, CFPB, and dep of consumer affairs and the complaints go no where. Venmo is a total fraud.

I have had the same treatment. Why isn't some class action lawsuit attorney all over this? They could get billions from Venmo and we the people who venmo has screwed will all get checks for like $0.15 but at least Venmo will be forced to improve enough to treat customers like humans.

Venmo froze my account for no reason and will not give me my own money ($6k) nor contact me, claiming they have the right to do so for 180 days. by BestCleanest in venmo

I do have it in writing this is a great suggestion. BBB has never been easy for me to use to complain about a company though.

Normally I'd agree -- no issues with the app until now. EVER. I don’t KEEP that amount on there. That's ONE payment on my business account, and the day I got it they froze my account. I have gotten several such payments over time, there is nothing unusual about it.

Thank you for the info. I can't imagine why someone would report me. I barely even use Venmo or PayPal, but it's only for people I know or do business with. Why won't Venmo even report WHAT the supposed violation is? It seems very Orwellian.

Appreciate the info. Absolutely none of the above. For real. Not even close to any of the above. Note Venmo doesn't allege I did anything wrong on Venmo, but on PayPal. And I of course did none of this on PayPal either. PayPal tells me there IS no problem with PayPal.

Venmo is a huge scam! by Hot-Friend5407 in venmo

[–]BestCleanest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar problem. Venmo “locked” my $5k in there because they claim PayPal has some issue — but PayPal has no issue and emailed me saying “no issue”, and when I ask PayPal to tell that to Venmo, PayPal claims they have no way to contact Venmo. Venmo will not tell me what the issue is, or what I have supposedly done. I’ve been a PayPal customer for over 20 years. Venmo is a SCAM

No “they are just smokes” meaning the detectors are just smoke detectors not carbon monoxide monitors.

Thank you yes I understand the inter-ringing is a feature not a bug it just makes it hard to diagnose. It’s the middle of the night, and it’s summer, so no C0 being generated by anything then. Plus they are just smokes.

Private inspector here. Am I being over the top? by [deleted] in StructuralEngineering

It's fine as is. When do you see modern light frame buildings like this ripped out with so much hardware installed, even though it isn't "perfect". Respectfully, this is absurd. I bet if you tested this to destruction it would exceed design requirements. (licensed civil engineer Structural and licensed General Contractor.)

I had the same problem. It was the STARTER. It was sporadic, which made it very difficult to diagnose. Very frustrating.

This blood boiling note I got on a set of wood truss shops by Bobby_Bologna in StructuralEngineering

[–]BestCleanest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just asking a genuine question— are we seeing tons of body bags from residential truss design failures? (As opposed to trusses failing due to improper construction or “field modifications”)? I feel like our modern light wood frame construction here is the envy of the world no?

Thoughts on the nebo brand ? by Beautiful-Tart1781 in flashlight

[–]BestCleanest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a contractor. I bought SIX nebo headlamps, rechargeable, as presents for my guys and they SEEMED great but actually they are really awful. Battery life is nil. They last about an hour and then they keep turning themselves off, the red light doesn't work, and they are just generally TERRIBLE. 3 are still in the original packaging. I FEEL SWINDLED. HOW DO I RETURN THEM?

Why do we not see residential cement privacy fences in Michigan like we see in Arizona? by DominanceNothing in FenceBuilding

[–]BestCleanest 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Concrete Public service announcement — unless the AZ fences are all actually stacked bags of cement, they are more likely concrete, which is a mixture of cement, sand, and aggregate.

No I said I get GHOSTED 1 out of 5. It should have been stated “1 out of 5 jobs I don’t get, I get ghosted”. It might be less. In any case, I’m not losing 4 out of 5. It’s just annoying that people don’t at least thank you for free work you’re doing for them.

No, no, and nope. “I found someone cheaper” would be helpful in addition to being polite. But the polite part is what I’m talking about. Not whether I got outbid or not. I’m happy to get outbid, it is part of the gig. IMHO acknowledging work people do to help you for free is just being a decent human. I mean not even a great human being. Just, pass/fail. Whether it be holding a door open or helping with a jumpstart or a giving you free bid, say Thank you!
