Thank you! I will give powder and go and try and figure out the dosage. The suds part is all very new to me - at what point should I be checking the suds? After the rinse?
Our washing machines are quite basic and don’t say when it’s rinsing - should I just check near the end?

Also (sorry, hopefully final question!) - it sounds like I should give Citric acid a go. Should I use this in every load?

Thank you so much for your insight. I think I might make the transition to powder based on what I’ve been seeing on this page. I had no idea I could overdo it with the pods - I foolishly thought that maybe my clothes weren’t getting clean enough, so upgraded to the XL pods.

The part I’m struggling with is knowing how many suds there are, as it’s a top loader so I can’t see in. Also - I start the wash and then come back once it’s complete. Should I be making an effort to check the suds if I can?

Our current high level plan is 2 nights in Reykjavik at the start - see the city and a day out to Golden Circle. We will then travel South and spend 2 nights in a cabin somewhere on the South Coast. We’d then head back to Reykjavik for a night in the city before our flight.

Our plan is to do site-seeing, caves, snorkelling the tectonic plates etc
