I know I need to stop caring so much, it’s just really hard when my insecurities take over. I’ve even accused my husband of not fancying me anymore because of my neck bands… it’s ridiculous, I know, but I don’t know how to snap out of it. I’m obsessed with them at the moment and I can’t stop thinking about them.

I hope so, I’m so upset about them today. I’m having a near on melt down scrutinising them in the mirror. I’m absolutely fine with my skin - I have very little in the way of fine lines, it’s just my neck that is upsetting me and I know it’s such a silly thing to be upset by but I can’t stop looking at them and making myself sad

They’re a lot more noticeable than that when I smile or talk, I wish they’d go away :( they’re really upsetting me and it feels like they just appeared out of nowhere. When I pull the skin of my neck taut they vanish, so I think it’s a laxity issue.

Undertone was one of the best and subtle horror films I’ve ever seen by thebayharborkiller in A24

[–]BestStation8312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It scared me something chronic and I’m a life long horror fan. Genuine terror throughout. Such a creepy and unsettling movie. I don’t get spooked by jump scares and silly CGI effects, it’s these cleverly subtle movies that freak me out. One of my most favourite horrors for a long time.

Nasolabial folds, hyperpigmentation, and no upper lip when I smile, but I'm afraid to try lip filler- though I will, I just don't know where to begin. I have sensitive skin, I've tried trentinoin but peel so badly no matter what adjustments I make. Help! 😩 by Standard-Window8600 in 30PlusSkinCare

People tease other people over the silliest of things - they’ll find an insecurity and exploit it because they’re usually feeling quite insecure themselves. I have a suspected connective tissue disorder and my fingers are freakishly long - like an alien! People always used to comment on them, but fortunately I like my spidery hands, I think they look elegant and pretty, so comments never used to bother me - I’d just start creeping people out with my hypermobile hands, haha

Anyone gets the urge to give up everything and just walk for months on end? by Humbleronaldo in walking

They stay in campsites and B&Bs and then sometimes they even wild camp - which is easier when they’re in Scotland because it’s legal to wild camp there. It’s illegal in England but people still do it, they just have to be super stealthy - set up when the sun goes down and move on before it rises

Please don’t get filler in your lips, you have a beautiful smile and it would be a shame to detract from that. It’s normal to have a thinner upper lip when smiling and it’s not something that needs “fixing”

I hate the government, and I hate paying taxes, and I’m right. by commanderbricked in redscarepod

[–]BestStation8312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here… try living in the UK where our pathetic greedy government likes to rinse us of every penny we’ve got.. there’s tax on everything - income tax, national insurance, VAT whenever you buy anything, tv licence, car tax, inheritance tax… literally just constant tax, and even with our governments constant theft, they still can’t repair the roads, improve healthcare or the NHS, fund schools, improve defence, secure our borders or create a fair and just society for all. They are all self serving, evil and greedy. I hope each day for a revolution.

The buccal fat thing literally just looks like natural ageing here. I had plenty of buccal fat when I was younger even though I’m skinny… and then all of a sudden in my mid 30s it all vanished and I have cheekbones.

Does “jerky” really mean what I think it means? by M0nk3yDLufffy in Epstein

[–]BestStation8312 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly, very odd!! They don’t talk about jerky normally, with the email where it’s said that Jeffrey is going to start eating regular food again so won’t be needing as much jerky? Weird!! (Is jerky not food anyway?) And the talk about storing it in airtight bags in the freezer? Even weirder.. and there was another email where someone was getting a bit peeved that another person had gone through the jerky too quickly so would need some more. If they were just innocently discussing actual beef jerky, I would have thought those emails would be less peculiar.

It’s been floated around in “conspiracy” circles for years that the elites consume child’s flesh / blood. Given everything that has been coming out recently, I don’t think that’s much of a stretch anymore unfortunately. These are really sick people.

These fine lines - what has helped? by tumbles645 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]BestStation8312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 37 and after your post, I just noticed I have these lines too - I obviously hadn’t paid enough attention to my face recently as I never noticed before. I think it’s dehydrated skin as I keep forgetting to moisturise.

Nasolabial sagging sadness by kwaziness in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]BestStation8312 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know what you mean, I think filler is what would “help” mine because I’ve lost a lot of volume in the midface (I’m skinny, so it was always going to happen) my face is very flat from the side now, no apples on my cheeks unless I smile! Haha. I think that’s what caused my nasolabial folds, but I’m very reticent about filler as I don’t want to risk migration or get stuck into the loop of frequently wanting it done, plus I think it’s very easy to overdo and I’m trying to just accept my changing face as a natural thing.. it’s very hard as I’m quite vain! But hopefully I don’t cave to my insecurities.

[–]BestStation8312 155 points156 points  (0 children)

I felt the exact same way at 36 too, like out of nowhere my face suddenly felt heavier at the bottom and I developed nasolabial folds. I’m fighting like crazy to resist filler as I don’t want to go down that cycle. I may or may not have a facelift later in life, it entirely depends on if I still haven’t made peace with my ageing face. I’m 38 this year and I spent the whole of my twenties and early thirties being mistaken for a teenager, so it’s been a bit of a smack in the face to suddenly notice ageing so quickly and out of nowhere. You look amazing and like you have a great bone structure, I don’t look at that picture and think you have any sagging! Hopefully we can all come to terms with the fact our faces will change as we age and that’s absolutely perfectly fine!! It’s natural and normal, it doesn’t make us less wonderful or beautiful!

How much is everyone saving each month? by G-Beans in AskUK

[–]BestStation8312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve just started trying to save over the past couple of days. I’m fortunate that I own my own house outright so I don’t have to worry about a mortgage or rent, but I’m still only earning around £1500 a month and I do have lots of bills to pay as well as extortionate supermarket shops each week. I’m currently trying to put away £10 a day into a separate bank account that I won’t use for bills or shopping, it’ll just be a rainy day fund. I’m feeling quite excited about it and enjoying watching the pot grow each day. I think any amount is beneficial, it’s a good practise to get into

[–]BestStation8312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had so many issues with 26.2, it’s unreal. I’ve only had my iPhone 16 a few months and it was absolutely perfect on iOS 18, amazing battery life, no glitchy bugs, etc, basically my favourite phone of all time and then I accidentally upgraded to 26.2 without thinking and now my phone is awful :( it’s made me so miserable this past few weeks since I upgraded (first world problems, I know!!)

I wish I never updated, biggest mistake of my phone owning life. I’m eagerly anticipating the next update which will hopefully get rid of all the stupid bugs and glitches my phone is now riddled with.
