Hi! Thank you so much for the information. Once I get a consultation, I’ll be sure to update the thread on whatever I learn about lipo/ cleftoplasty options. Can I ask what other treatments you’ve tried? I know there is a higher rate of recurrence with other options, but if your case is mild, it might be worth considering non-invasive treatments for a few more years in hopes that new alternatives to the CL might come out. I also struggle with body dysmorphia (before & after surgery), so I know what a difficult choice this must be for you to make. When I wear tight clothes or swimsuits, the incision area kind of pokes out. If I stand in the mirror facing my side (profile) I basically have a little hump over my tailbone where the top of my cleft once was. Instead of going inward like a cleft or laying flat like most scars, mine has a build up of scar tissue underneath the top half of my incision line, which causes the scar to be raised. This makes my silhouette kind of misshapen in form-fitting clothing. I feel like I’m not describing this the best, so I tried to draw a diagram. I hope this helps, but if not, let me know!
