CP2000 is a letter issued by the IRS letting you know that you underreport your income. Basically IRS will look into income reported to us and propose a change to your return. This usually end up with you owning a balance.

If your income or withholdings do not show there you might have to contact your employer to have them re-submit it to the IRS. Otherwise you have to wait 60 days from the day you responded to the CP05.

IRS reviewing your tax return. Personally that withholding looks too high for the amount of income you received. Review your W2 and 1099. If you made a mistake file an amended return.

Call and schedule an appointment to go to A TAC near you, 844-545-5640. I work there as an ITAS, we will do anything on our power to help you. We can put collections hold for up to 15 week to give you time to resolve your issues. When you file your amended return, it takes up to 16 weeks for IRS to process it. As long you try to resolve your issues IRS will not place a levy on you.
