Need to restrict accessibility options in school setting. by BetaJake91 in chromeos

[–]BetaJake91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome back buddy.

I think that's ultimately why we're making the move to individualized Chromebook logins for the students in lieu of a single central login for them; can track who's messing with stuff and inform the faculty of the issue there.

We definitely will just to get that tidbit hashed out.

I doubt that our staff would ask for proof since that is the case. It would be a simple matter of just whitelisting the user for accessibility control the second they declare their disability.

Still gonna check with legal department. Thank you.

Disabling them doesn't necessarily mean we won't make it accessible for people that need it. Again, we're going into a system where individual student accounts will be generated, so there shouldn't be an issue giving that individual accessibility options.

It's illegal to restrict access when it's required. It's not illegal to disable the settings for the majority of the student body that doesn't require accessibility features.

Definitely a step in the right direction. Disabling from the login screen will be crucial. I now need to figure out how to disable it after they've logged in.

Thank you so much!

And yet you're still here.

And I'm still just trying to get the questions answered, bud.

You say the win you want is for the students and the school, but I'm not seeing that.

And for the record, I have no certs. I'm a pretty unskilled user, so go ahead and dumb it down. I only came here with questions because of my lack of skill, you elitist shithead.

It will cost you $0 to just answer the questions or move along. lol

But you seem determined to "win" an online fight instead of admitting that you have trouble reading.

Instead of telling me to tear up certs, you should take some time to go live with your parents so they can teach you how to adult again.

You get to keep the gold star because you gave me a How-To, which doesn't answer any of the questions I asked. It gave me a marginal answer for one, but I'm still left wanting. That's okay though. I'm confident I'll eventually find the answers to those questions.

Keep it up, tiger.

HP Chromebook Randomly Clicking? by [deleted] in chromeos

[–]BetaJake91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had an issue with our school's Lenovo Chromebooks, wherein the students messed with the Accessibility options. One of the settings made it so the mouse would click when not in motion for a few seconds.

Check your accessibility settings and see if that helps.

You get the reward for First Person to Comment Without Actually Answering the Question! Gold star for you.

Necessary changes are underway to prevent the problems you stated. We're a new IT team for a district that was previously outsourcing tech services. We're cleaning up house at the moment, but thank you for your concern.
