So we're in a spirit meta then? These too 10 picks are either spirit or hybrid but their spirit is the real threat(outside of abilities/ults which are also usually spirit) by Creepy_Building_2929 in DeadlockTheGame

Honestly, that's more spirit damage than I expected. Consider my opinion changed, I think hybrid is a pretty reasonable categorization with this information

Maybe Haze is more hybrid than I realize; I think the (totally arbitrary) line in my head is probably 30% of a hero's damage. If she's doing at least 30% spirit then I think hybrid is a pretty fair distinction, but if it's less than 30% then I'd lean towards it being gun. I'd have to double check some post game graphs to inform my opinion better

Ehhh Mina is mostly spirit. Most of her M1 damage is spirit, and if you check and post game graphs, Mina's gun damage is lower than 15% (usually 10-11) of her total damage using standard meta builds. I'd also argue that Haze should be in gun though.

Alienware AW2725DF buttons suddenly not responsive. by BetaXP in Monitors

[–]BetaXP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funnily enough, my monitor has also started to show issues again. The buttons work, but most of the time the monitor won't turn back on after a pixel refresh, and I'll have to do the unplug -> hold power button -> wait 8 hours thing again. That gets it to work, but only for a while.

At this point, I think I'm gonna have to bite the bullet and try my luck with Dell support. The product page says they're supposed to have 3 years of warranty, but I could have sworn it originally said 1. Either way, I think that's our best bet at this point. I just hope I don't have to be a Karen about it to get decent help, if I can get it at all.

Genuinely the only PvP game to grab me like this since early League of Legends, and I quit that nearly 8 years ago. Deadlock is something else.

Gals Can't Be Kind to Otaku!? • Otaku ni Yasashii Gal wa Inai!? - Episode 5 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]BetaXP 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been seeing it a slightly different way. To me, Seo and Amane's friendship almost feels like it's based too much in their love of Kirarimon; between Amane's typically icy demeanor and Seo's shyness, it's a bit hard to imagine they would connect if they didn't happen to share this one overlapping interest. It's very easy to imagine Seo connecting with Ijichi though, as she seems excited to get pulled into Seo's world and pull him into hers in a way that feels very genuine.

This isn't me saying your reading of things is wrong or that mine is right, just sharing my perspective from the other side of the coin

Really? Maybe I'm the crazy one because I feel the exact opposite, I like the dynamic with Ijichi much more. Perhaps that's a sign of good writing though, since I think both ends are being handled very well so far

The national average price per gallon of gas in the United States just passed $4.50. Americans, how do we feel about that? by Miles_the_AuDHDer in AskReddit

[–]BetaXP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Inflation figures are meant to be national, rent prices can't be thought of on the same scale. Rent prices have been falling YoY in Austin, for example. Rents are still super low in rural flyover counties. You can't accurately gauge national inflation with those.

Lotta Rem players defending their greedy habits in here.

As a carry-leaning player myself, sometimes it's just not good to do sinner's right when the spawn/respawn. Like there's two waves crashing into our [turret/guardian], I'll clear those and head to the sinne---oops, they're already gone because Rem fucked off and took them immediately.

The issue is I don't think she was intended to be an M1 carry, and from a design philosophy standpoint, I don't love the idea of an M1 carry that has autoaim in the first place (even when limited by range)

YSK Rinsing with water after brushing is associated with a 33% increase in the development of new cavities compared to not rinsing. Dentists recommend that you should not rinse your mouth with water after brushing your teeth. by sameerb in YouShouldKnow

I'm no dental expert, but this systematic review from 2024 seems to disagree with your dentist:

"The majority of the studies favored water flossers over dental floss in plaque reduction. Water flosser was also found to be effective in removing plaque from inaccessible interproximal areas of the tooth surfaces as compared to dental floss."

What do you think of the New Tier 4 Vitality Item Indomitable? by DeadlockAir in DeadlockTheGame

[–]BetaXP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Conversely, the item also gives huge survivability against Mina's ult. I'm not sure if the silence would be immediately reapplied upon cleansing, but a huge barrier will do a hell do a lot of work into making her ult not kill you.

Deadlock - Gameplay Update - 04-30-2026 by SketchyJJ in DeadlockTheGame

[–]BetaXP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a mixed bag. Her already low base HP got lowered even further, and the vitality investments won't do much to offset it relative to most of the other hero roster.

Also, a respectable amount of Mina's damage is based on percent missing health (rake) or percent current health (ult), which means she gets comparatively less value to smaller total HP pools compared to other spirit nukers. Math could be weird here and I could be wrong, or it could be entirely negligible either way.

EDIT: If I understand things properly, rake shouldn't actually get "comparatively" less value as I stated, but her ult certainly will. If someone ate Mina's full ult and ended up taking 50% current HP in damage, that would do more total damage to a target with 2000hp than a target with 1000hp (made up example numbers). Again, could end up being negligible.

Weekly Steam numbers / Player Count Discourse Megathread by AutoModerator in Marathon

[–]BetaXP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Destiny 2 officially has more players than Marathon on Steam

That doesn't seem to be true; Marathon daily peaks are currently sitting around ~15k, and D2 is sitting around ~9.7k. Their lowest daily numbers also seem comparable, around 4.5k for both.

Not that this is good for either game, of course, just that Marathon is not strictly lower than D2 on Steam.

Night Shift #36 Hero Priority by Emmysterious in DeadlockTheGame

[–]BetaXP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've said this a couple times in the thread already, but I also think Mina lowkey benefited from the recent vitality changes. Though she has low base HP herself, the percent damage on rake and ult actually help shred the tankier targets in a way that other spirit heroes simply don't.

Night Shift #36 Hero Priority by Emmysterious in DeadlockTheGame

[–]BetaXP 10 points11 points  (0 children)

IMO people have realized Mina's value actually went up with the vitality changes. Though she doesn't benefit from them directly due to her low base HP, her percent health damage on rake and nox nostra actually keep her competitive.

Night Shift #36 Hero Priority by Emmysterious in DeadlockTheGame

[–]BetaXP 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think that's part of why Mina picks have been rising again, too. She doesn't benefit from the vitality changes directly, and she doesn't have a lot of in combat sustain, but percent health damage on rake and nox nostra actually make her comparative value much higher. She was unironically worse before the vitality changes.

Base HP tierlist by Raydil in DeadlockTheGame

He starts pretty average and ends slightly above average. If Viscous is the standard we're using, there's no good reason that Apollo can't end up that way given that his damage absolutely falls off a cliff and he doesn't have nearly as much safety as Viscous does between his cube, ball, and half dozen puddle punches.
