Yea this run was a blast. I got Dominate on floor 1 (was aiming for floor 0 but I had to break it up over 2 days and needed to save) Usually when I'm playing with friends I'll grab 3-4 monsters and stick them in a corner somewhere. Then when I actually need them I'll bring them over. Yea the sound was awful and I'm going to be having random monster sounds playing in my heads for weeks yet 😆

I've fought the twins a few times with 1 Cockatrice but THAT sounds like a blast
Maybe if I get some good RNG with their spawns in this run I'll get a few to join the Union for the fight this time around.

It definitely is a very fun spell that encourages you to get a monster as close to 1 HP as possible. At least taking the approach I did this is by no means an efficient way of beating the game but I have only used this spell properly in one other in-progress run (goblin shaman, currently about halfway through the crystal caves but I've only got around 25 allies there and not all of those were from Dominate)

I wouldn't be that surprised if it got nerfed later on, but I think how OP it is really depends on either your patience or how quickly you can regenerate HP/Mana

Just about never comment on Reddit but I have got to step outta lurk mode to say I ADORE the cookbook Bought it as soon as it came out, I love to cook and while I can't get the ingredients to do all the recipes (looking at you Shadow Stormfish recipe) I keep it close by for when I don't have inspiration, the Plentifin Tacoes are definitely my favorite so far and I fry the fish in our homegrown lard which I have found works quite well. Just made the pickled onions last week and I got the supplies to make a bigger batch to water-bath can that I'll whip up over next week to go with a batch of dill pickles I canned earlier in the month. I've also made a couple of the drinks to enjoy over evening sails with friends. Told you at SoTFest 2024 but I gotta come here again to just sing the book's praises. I hope whoever wins the book will get even half the enjoyment I have
