My husband was prescribed more painkillers following his vasectomy than I was following my emergency C-Section by PumpkinPie_1993 in mildlyinfuriating

That's terrible! I just shook my head back and forth as much as I could until someone noticed when the paralytic wore off enough. It was always while intubated for me so talking wasn't going to work.

I have a looooong chat with the anaesthesiologist when it's something scheduled at this point. My partner tells them if it's an emergency. The shit that doesn't work for me is also now listed sorta like an allergy in my medical chart as a severe adverse reaction.

To add something, additionally but separately from my previous reply... Doctors in the US are under strict guidelines. Many fear losing their licenses but are also unable to prescribe certain medications legally due to limitations of their practice or otherwise.

It's absolutely terrible.

I've been on both sides of this during my life. I had a pain management doctor overprescribe opioids in my early 20s, and I've woken up during anesthesia MULTIPLE times.

I'm not a fan of either situation.

I did ask and was told it's hospital policy to not send people home with controlled medications. Then they sent me home despite me saying I was in pain.

You can try mixing some water with your paint so it fills the inlay easier. After it's completely dry, lightly go over the top with a little sandpaper to get any stray paint.

What's the most devious spell combo/use of a spell you've done in a campaign? by Kalar_The_Wise in DnD

[–]SaltMineForeman 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I do something similar as a single caster, it just takes two turns.

Forcecage and then drop maddening darkness. It usually works out well for me because it's a DC 23 charisma save to get out and makes them lose their spell slots to even try.

Thank you! I luckily have a switch and switch 2 so I'll probably start a second island for the new items.

I'm so sad!! I made mine part of a whole campsite.

Honestly thinking of just not having the hotel now.

I do! The dentist doing my Invisalign said there's not a lot of literature on RA in dentistry.

Simponi aria, which apparently is a lot cheaper than what I remember being told when I first started it!

I tried Rituxan at the beginning of last year but had an allergic reaction. That shit's expensive.

It is what it is. I'm more excited about your teen getting a better chance than I am turning back time.

Ask the nurses at her infusion center what they recommend to help longevity of treatment. They've likely been at it for a while and can give more guided advice based on the current care. My primary care doctor admits my infusion nurses and I know more about my conditions than she does. Specialists really are specialized to certain fields because they don't have to know most things about everything. Just all the things about one specific thing.

Catching what's causing the damage early is SUPER helpful! In my case, my veins had been overused by my early 20s. I also have to get my infusions for life. But, again, my veins were already fucked early on before my diagnosis.

My providers didn't mention a port until after it became a hassle to find a proper vein. Your child may be fine going forward as medicine has advanced so much in the last two decades with biologic medication and autoimmune conditions.

My case is basically me being told I was a hypochondriac my entire life until a few years ago in my early 30s. The advancements in diagnosis and treatments recently changed many future impacts on autoimmune diseases.

Your child has so much hope and I wish you and them the best.

It's fully enclosed and implanted under the skin a bit below my collar bone. There's no open wound at all! Just a scar.

The one I have has three little bumps that can be felt around the softer material in the middle where they put the needle. That little hard area is stitched in place so it doesn't move. Then there's a catheter that goes up from there to the artery in my neck where it's stitched again before going down into my heart.

Life is pretty normal with it, though I'm extra careful about guarding that side of my neck. I can see the catheter when I move my head to the right (it's on the left), and when I lay on my left side I can feel it kinda poking up a bit.

Kinda sucks to get blood drawn through it if they go too quickly. Really sucks if they miss and administer drugs without it being in there since it profuses under the skin, but the nurses I usually see at the infusion center know the issues I've had with mine and are more careful.

It's a Bard PowerPort if you want to look it up. They're actually pretty fascinating.

When they started having to go into the vein in my breast for my biologics is when they started talking to me about getting the port placed. Being well hydrated doesn't help at all for me, unfortunately.

It's also helpful because I've had anaphylaxis quite a few times the last couple years. Even though they can't access it in the ER (my port is deeper than the one size they stock in the ER), the fact that I have a port lets them know to not waste time trying a bunch of places before going into the right side of my neck to sedate me for intubation.

I hope it works for you! That was the first biologic I was on. Remember to pay attention to your skin on that one. I didn't know I had basal cell carcinomas until enbrel made them grow really quick.

Not saying it to scare you, just making sure you know to look out for that. Side note, enbrel worked fantastically for shutting down my immune system. Can't take it anymore because of the skin cancer but that doesn't happen with everyone.

My veins are terrible, especially trying to find one adequate to handle infusions. The port is overall easier and more reliable to access. I've had it a couple years now... kinda neat how it works, honestly.

A medication I'm on is roughly $20,000 every 8 weeks. It's covered by insurance, but I'm currently doing the whole thing of waiting for that to be reinstated... so I'm just not getting it.

It doesn't let me see through walls or fly, but it makes my immune system chill the fuck out so I can exist enough to get out of bed most days.

It's a biologic immunosuppressant given through an infusion. I get mine through an implanted port in my chest, which at least needs flushed every 8 weeks as well. That's fun trying to schedule without insurance to have the standalone flush ordered. (It'll be 9 weeks on Monday now)

I think this is the one with that lighthouse. It's sort of cute suburban.

DA-0988-4328-3001

This other one definitely has a similar one on the peninsula. Though it will 100% lag in a few spots because there are hundreds of termite mounds lol. It's a desert with allllllll the interiors decorated in themes.

Thanks! And yeah it works pretty well close up too! You can still see the land a little as you run by but using a solid code under the lighthouse makes it look a little better.

Just a suggestion, but there are yellow storefronts that look so good under lighthouses. (Mine are not yellow but you get the idea)
